I am in a yeshiva that allows for part time college. When I first attended I enjoyed it and the people there. However I am now paying for the part time college and many of the guys who I knew previously have left. The learning done there is mostly a joke given that most guys can barely read the gemara etc. Additionally they are now cracking down on certain things that are preventing me from excelling at college. I have spoken to my parents over the last little while about leaving and they did not like the idea. Ultimately it is my choice if I would leave its just that I wouldnt want to upset them however my feelings towards leaving are strong. Any thoughts on the matter?

Are you thinking of leaving the college or the yeshiva or both?

I wonder if we are in the same yeshiva. It sounds like you are describing my yeshiva. Is the yeshiva in Flatbush??

It’s very noble of you to care about their feelings but ultimately it’s your life and you have to decide what you’d rather sacrifice. You’re an adult and have to start making decisions that are best for you.
