What do you think about dressing kids up like disney characters (mickey mouse, elmo, cinderella…) . I am not suggesting every boy dress like a Kohen Gadol, but to take a character out of a non jewish movie?

    Whats your opinion?

Buy the Elsa dress and say it’s queen Esther.

Is it worse than dressing up like a soldier, policeman, clown or Obama?

Disney is the Great American planning event for making the easy street an easier ride. Is it sacreligious? Only if you hate Elmo.

But really, who needs a disney advice column in their yeshiva?

Probably the nice people who like to smile the simple intelligent reason of giving more advice to the poor to actually make money.

But I think Disney is a corruption of the vineyard.

Smile. Mickey is just a capitalist who has a living to make.

    Give him credit.

Listen, kids dress up to to what they want deep inside, if your kid wants to dress up as a disney character…that means he’s probobly way over in gashmiyus.

I’m just saying, the little boy/girl who comes home saying “I want to be a tzadik/esther” is who they want to follow after.

If your kid is a tzadik, you can use this oppurtunity to make him feel more special. “Wow, your such a tzadik!!! You’re gonna grow up and be a rebbe….” and so on.

    What do Disney characters show?

I know I was always taught that kids dress up as what they really want to be, but now that I’m older I don’t really buy that anymore. When I was little I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. Why did I never dress up as one? I thought it would be a boring costume. I wanted to wear something different.

shopping: There’s a reason little kids (and adults) love Disney. And it’s not because they’re meaningless.
