Since the week after Sukkos, I have found myself experiencing feelings of fatigue and lightheadedness. Going out in the sun (it occurs more in the daytime) makes it worse and it can make it difficult to drive. I can take a nap during the day and it does not make it better. I know ask your LOD(local orthodox doctor) but, I went to see one last year when I had similar feelings (which went away) and they could not find anything. I am also about to be in the process of switching insurance and dont want to see a doctor during that time. Anyone else ever have this experience. It got really bad Friday night that it turned into a headace. My father thinks maybe it is sinuses, considering the weather where I am is 30 one day 70 the next.

I was gonna say sinus too, I get that alot. Especially if you feel pain when you tap your face bones (not a technical term). But I would not feel comfortable not confirming it with a doctor.

Also – “considering the weather where I am is 30 one day 70 the next.” Is there any more obvious way of saying you live in Chicago?

    🙂

Do you drink coffee with Splenda? I was getting these dizzy spells and I heard that Splenda depletes your Vitamin B & causes dizziness. I quit the Splenda cold turkey and I haven’t had a dizzy spell since.

For me anything that has caffeine (decaf. coffee, soda, deserts….)in it, makes me very light headed & jittery. So I stay far away from anything that contains caffeine.

Could be allergies, could be caffeine or its withdrawal, could be dehydration. Could be ANYTHING. Make a doc appointment again and have your thyroid checked as well as have a blood sugar fast.

mynamesixonethree – Some of the posters have mentioned some of the possibilities. Unfortunately for you -there are many more.

Diagnosing this common complaint requires a workup (sometimes even extensive). So my advice to you is -hopefully you have a good relationship with your PCP and make a long appt. with him/her to get to the bottom of this. You might not get an answer right away, but be persistant. If you don’t have a good relationship with your PCP, find another that you can have this type of relationship. Because how the PCP is able to illict a H & P -is how he/she will decide which direction to go in, eg. tests, etc.

Health, I have a cousin who would be a good one to help me, but I am in the process of trying to change insurance plans right now and he does not accept what I currently have. Thank G-D, it has not been too bad since Friday and am hoping it keeps up this way. I experienced the same feelings last year and then it went away.I went to have it checked out once and nothing was found and it was attributed to stress. I dont know about that.

mynamesixonethree – I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t want to scare you, but this isn’t something to put off much longer. While most of the underlying problem of these symptoms are usually benign, these symptoms can sometimes represent something serious. You can go to one of these Frum Health Clinics -they have them in NYC, Monsey & Lakewood. Or perhaps ask your cousin to see you for free or at a discount.

“I went to have it checked out once and nothing was found and it was attributed to stress.”

To come to this conclusion/diagnosis -it has to be one of exclusion. Besides the H & P (including ortho vital signs), you’ll probably need blood work and perhaps an EKG and/or an echocardiograph.
