    Hi,

    Is drinking alcohol allowed during the 9 days?

    I have been told that wine and great juice is a problem (other than Shabbos).

    I want to know- is beer and scotch/bourbon is also prohibited? Or is the halacha different and it is allowed.

    Please answer only if you know for sure and of course, any Halachic source is a plus.

    Its not about alcohol, wine (and grape juice) have a chashivos. Other beverges are permited. (those who are not using grape juice for havdalah in the nine days use beer instead.

    I know its muttar. Any halachic source saying its assur wud be laughed at.
