Where would be a good place to go on vacation by MiniVan with 4 children — ages 9, 4, 3, and 1 — for several days, coming from the Catskills. Nothing too expensive. And if your recommendation includes Shabbos, pleas specify how that can be accomplished. Could be a weekday trip without Shabbos too.

(it has 2 buildings – the original and the new one which is partnered with hilton) the hotel has a really nice kiddy pool and GORGEOUS grounds – lake and all!
hope this is helpful! 🙂

August 1, 2011 6:37 pm at 6:37 pm #793969apushatayidParticipantCooperstown, NY is on Ostego Lake. There are lots of activities in the area besides the baseball hall of fame. There is the Farmers Museum (you can spend an entire afternoon here, lots to see and do), boating and other lake activities. Glimmerglass state Park is nearby, and especially for little kids, there is large playground. You can find what to do in the area for 2-3 days without any problems. Google Cooperstown and/or Ostego Lake NY.

August 2, 2011 10:35 pm at 10:35 pm #793971Boro Park GirlMemberGo to Niagara Falls. There are some nice inexpensive hotels there and a lot to do- but check into what you can do specially for young children.

August 3, 2011 5:12 am at 5:12 am #793973HachamMemberHow much are the inexpensive hotels in Niagara? Where is the best place to reserve them (i.e. priceline)?
August 3, 2011 1:27 pm at 1:27 pm #793974PeacemakerMemberYou get a better price by reserving a hotel before going on the trip.

August 3, 2011 6:22 pm at 6:22 pm #793976commonsenseParticipantNiagra Falls is about 6 hours away. Lake George is a great place with loads to do and is about 2 hours away but don’t go in the nine days. Jimini Peak (I’m not sure how to spell it) is a great trip and is also about 2 hours away.
August 4, 2011 2:55 am at 2:55 am #793977PeacemakerMemberWhat is there to do at Lake George?
August 4, 2011 1:56 pm at 1:56 pm #793978shlishiMemberVacation is really just a change of scenery. That’s all you need. You can really go anywhere. It doesn’t matter so much what there is or where there is to go. (As long as there is some minimal things, even nice outdoor scenery.)
