January 6, 2011 11:27 pm at 11:27 pm #782533mewhoParticipantonce a week. thursday night i have pizza delivered so the crew can eat while i cook for shabbos
January 6, 2011 11:47 pm at 11:47 pm #782534TheGoqParticipantusually once a week, not too many places near me deliver so the choice is somewhat limited , pizza/sushi and sandwiches
January 7, 2011 12:14 am at 12:14 am #782535mikehall12382Membermaybe every 2nd week, not including shabbos of course
January 7, 2011 1:13 am at 1:13 am #782536winny1ParticipantOnce a week we get take out so my wife gets a break. On Sundays we usually try to have a family day since the week is so hectic and time is scarse with everyone doing their own thing. When we get back in the evening The family gets dropped off and Dad goes out to get dinner for everyone.
January 7, 2011 2:59 am at 2:59 am #782537estherhamalkaMemberEvery Sunday is my cooking day off, so we usually order in from KD,or subs. Once in a rare while we will eat out there as opposed to bringing it home.

July 1, 2011 1:40 am at 1:40 am #782541bombmaniacParticipantall my food is bought at restaurants…i basically buy all my food at one in particular. good food. a bit expensive…but i cant be bothered to just cook for myself.
July 1, 2011 10:48 am at 10:48 am #782542basket of radishesParticipantSadly in my city of over 3000 yidden, we have no kosher restaurants. So unless I want to drive over an hour of driving tiem in my day, I dont get to eat out that much. Leave it to our great jewish children to congregate in a town and not have a kosher place to eat. 3000 plus yidden and no place to eat? Well I guess we are all busy people. Thanks guys. We don’t really have a mikveh that the whole town can use either. But who am I to complain huh?
July 1, 2011 1:25 pm at 1:25 pm #782543A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantThursday night is pizza night. And then, depending upon work load, etc., about once a month, tkaeout Chinese food for dinner on Tues. night. Of course, before Pesach, the amount of takeout and eating out increases as the kitchen cleaning accelerates.
I very rarely do take out for Shabbos, only if I’ve had a very tiring week and we have no guests. It’s too expensive and I can make it better (except for stuffed cabbage).
Recently, with the advent of some kosher frozen yogurt places in my area, we’ve started having that for lunch on Sundays while we’re out doing errands.
July 1, 2011 2:33 pm at 2:33 pm #782544adorableParticipantI can only eat out so often because I’m single…. its so expensive. but i love eating out.
July 1, 2011 3:24 pm at 3:24 pm #782545A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantSo do I!
July 1, 2011 10:31 pm at 10:31 pm #782546bombmaniacParticipantto all you people who dont live in boro park and are therefore unable to roll out of bed at 2 AM and get some schnitzi…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! you have no idea what youre missing 😀 mamash taam gan eden. (the ability…not schnitzi…) it should be assur for jews to live anywhere but boro park and midwood and of course israel…for their own benefit 😀
July 2, 2011 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #782547ummMemberThursday night is pizza night here too! Otherwise, only if it’s been too hectic to make supper, of course special occasions (birthday, anniversary..) and first 3 months of pregnancy!! (for HIM, i can’t even look at food!)
July 3, 2011 2:47 am at 2:47 am #782548HIEParticipantbombmaniac: your’e so right but the only correction i have is that you left out flatbush. the main schnitzi is in flatbush. It rocks da house open till 1 or 2 every night. also koldkuts in flatbush partyhouse till 230am thursday nights and deli52 in boro park till 430am thursday nights. BROOKLYN ROCKS DA HOUSE!!!
July 3, 2011 3:09 am at 3:09 am #782549brotherofursParticipantwe eat out for birthdays (like one a month) and on like every other sunday night sometimes we get pizza
July 3, 2011 3:24 am at 3:24 am #782550bombmaniacParticipantHIE: correction. schnitzi is in midwood…

July 3, 2011 5:05 am at 5:05 am #782552yolkMemberyup!! and it was worth the wait 🙂
July 3, 2011 5:05 am at 5:05 am #782553HIEParticipantbombmaniac, oh please, don’t give me that, in the jewish circles it’s considered flatbush.
July 3, 2011 5:13 am at 5:13 am #782554bombmaniacParticipantso jewish circles are stupid? *wanders off to convert to christianity*
July 3, 2011 5:32 am at 5:32 am #782555Pac-ManMemberMidwood is in Flatbush.
July 3, 2011 5:32 am at 5:32 am #782556Pac-ManMemberMidwood is in Flatbush. There is an old thread discussing this.
July 3, 2011 6:00 am at 6:00 am #782557mewhoParticipantyou can shop in pomegranet and they usually offer some free samples to taste. if you go around the store a few times it can be a snack and no need to eat out.
kiddingggggggg, maybe
July 3, 2011 6:02 am at 6:02 am #782558s2021Memberneveeeeeer I hate spending money on food (cept ice cream)
July 3, 2011 6:04 am at 6:04 am #782559HIEParticipantbombmaniac: you obviously dont know flatbush, i’ve been living here for many years, youv’e been living very far away in boro park
July 3, 2011 6:49 am at 6:49 am #782560bombmaniacParticipantyup. i just called you all stupid.
July 3, 2011 2:48 pm at 2:48 pm #782561mamashtakahMemberWe used to occasionally have Chinese take out for Friday night. We would order a whole bunch of lunch specials, bring them home, and heat them up before Shabbat. That was gevaldig!
July 3, 2011 5:25 pm at 5:25 pm #782562The once a week trickled down to going out occassionally for such as double birthdays, graduation, just to get the kids together. It does add up and is expensive, so i can see why KD in Boro Park closed and we sure miss them. Pehaps they can reopen in a smaller store and we would once again frequent or order at least once a week.
