During Elul my preferred mode of delivering mussar is to just yell the word over and over with increasing levels of hysteria. I have seen amazing results from this method, with at least four aveiros stopped in their tracks thanks to my efforts.

However Elul is now over, and I’m struggling to find an appropriate thing to yell at people I perceive to be wrongdoers. Is “Koifer” too harsh? Or can I still yell Elul because it’s still Elul Zman for my bochurim? I can’t seem to find anything else with which I can achieve quite that same level of visceral, apoplectic, rage. Something which I can really express my utter outrage at the fact that someone is not up to the levels I demand of them. Maybe “Koifer” isn’t strong enough. Any suggestions?

Have you ever considered whispering “Tishrei” since shaarei Shamayim are still open for another 10 days or so. You’d be amazed that volume doesn’t always equate to efficacy.

Koifer isn’t strong enough but if u carry a spray bottle mabye the combined efforts of yelling Koifer and mercilessly spraying the talmidim then with seyata dishmaiya the mussar will break through and the Talmud will do teshuva

Apparently, young Nehama Leibovitz told her father that she learned at school that one should behave better between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Her father replied that yes but one should also behave better between Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashana.

“the mussar will break through and the Talmud will do teshuva”

Mussar is the antidote to everything! it can even salvage The Talmud!
