Unfortunately, it looks like Harris who came from zero in the 2020 Debates, became the VP and now has the momentum that looks like she will be chosen as President. Trump made a mistake picking Vance, most likely should have picked a strong woman candidate such as Stefanik or Tulsi Gabbard. Vance contributed nothing and is maybe a small step above Pence since he talks. Everyone should have seen this coming, but what nobody saw coming is that Kamala would actually have a chance agaisnt Trump. It seems that those on the left who want anyone but Trump and wasnt planning to vote for Biden, will now vote Harris since Biden is gone. What will America be under Harris?
July 23, 2024 6:05 pm at 6:05 pm #2299297ujmParticipantRW/OP: Why do you think Harris will win against Trump?
July 23, 2024 6:05 pm at 6:05 pm #2299298GadolhadorahParticipantI think it would be easier to predict when Moishiach will arrive than the outcome of the November election. The events of the past several weeks were beyond the imagination of even the most wild-eyed script writers of West Wing and Veep and it will likely get even crazier in the next several months.
The polls still clearly favor Trump but having a new Democratic ticket with Harris and her VP choice at least make the race more competitive.July 23, 2024 6:05 pm at 6:05 pm #2299300LostsparkParticipantIt will be great, as a matter of fact let’s do away with elections all together and give unlimited power to the left. Republicans are a threat to democracy and shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Democrats know what’s best for people, more so than themselves.
July 23, 2024 6:06 pm at 6:06 pm #2299302akupermaParticipantIf the Democrats appease their WOKE, they risk losing their center. If the Republicans (meaning Trump) appease their center, their MAGA base will still vote for Trump. The question is whether a “progressive” such as Harris find a way to appeal to the center without alienating the left, but she has an advantage which is the left is suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” so as long as Trump is the opponent, she can say whatever she wants. The real issue is whether Harris is clever enough to move to the center. Having chosen Vance, Trump can make an effort to recapture the center.
Trump seems to be getting cleverer, and it isn’t clear if the Democrats are (they should have dumped Biden six months ago, but then they would risk a far-left person similar to Bernie Sanders winning the convention).
July 23, 2024 6:09 pm at 6:09 pm #2299339SQUARE_ROOTParticipantJonathan S. Tobin (editor-in-chief of Jewish News Syndicate) said:
“It was an open secret in Washington that even in an administration
that was staffed largely by Obama-era alumni, [Vice President Kamala] Harris
was the most openly sympathetic to the Palestinians and
the least inclined to stand with a Jewish state that had suffered
the worst mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust.From the start of the war that was launched by Hamas on Oct. 7 [2023],
she has been careful not to go too far in denouncing Israel’s effort
to defeat the terrorists in Gaza, but she [Kamala Harris] has also
repeatedly recycled Hamas propaganda about Palestinian casualties.Though left-wing Jews are already mobilizing to loyally vouch for her,
her position is essentially one of moral equivalence between Israel
and the people who committed murder, rape, kidnapping and
wanton destruction on Oct. 7, while supporting
a genocidal terror group bent on Israel’s destruction.”SOURCE: article titled: Do Kamala Harris and the Democrats have a Jewish problem?
by Jonathan S. Tobin (editor-in-chief of Jewish News Syndicate)
2024 July 23, www (dot) JNS (dot) orgJuly 23, 2024 9:53 pm at 9:53 pm #2299348rightwriterParticipantThe reason I think Kamala has a chance to win is because America is pretty much divided 50/50 as it is, with Biden most of the left weren’t going to vote. Now that Kamala is in they will likely vote her in since their hatred for Trump is higher than their hatred towards her dumbness.
July 23, 2024 9:53 pm at 9:53 pm #2299352doom777ParticipantNo need to panic, the election is not decided.
√: thanks for that source, did not knowJuly 23, 2024 9:54 pm at 9:54 pm #2299353skripkaParticipantFirstly, @squareRoot, do you have a mind of your own? Just write what you want to say and finished. These Copy/paste excerpts from writers is frankly annoying. And none of us care about the attribution, especially since 90% of the time you preface it the way you do here: “Jonathan Tobin said” etc.
Here is the big problem the GOP has. Trump barely won in 2016 because he was running against the most hated politician ever. People DESPISED Hillary, even dyed-in-the-wool Democrats. Come 2020, even though he was a decent (in my book, I know a lot of you have a different metric and that’s ok) President, people were in my opinion so sick of the constant circus, whether legitimate or blown out of proportion, that they voted for Biden, simply because they wanted someone that represented “normal” which Joe Biden was. Thus, the aberration that was 2016, in which centrists and the few remaining Blue Dog Democrats voted for Trump, was “corrected”, and they voted for the person they most likely would’ve voted for anyway.
2022 showed that. The Democrats managed to gin up enough anger about the Roe V. Wade repeal to stave off the promised GOP Blue Wave that never materialized, and regained the votes of whit working-class suburban women, which is a key demographic for them if they want to win.
Now we get to 2024. The media restarts the Trump is Hitler train, begins protecting Biden as in 2020, and the Democrats get cocky. Biden challenges Trump to a debate, thinking that Trump will say no and look weak, or accept and look like a maniac so that they would have campaign rhetoric about how unhinged “Orange Man” is. Unfortunately, just as in 2016 when the Democrats believed their own hype that Hillary would beat Trump soundly because he was so terrible and took their foot off the gas, they believed their own rhetoric that the GOP claims that Biden was deteriorating mentally was just classic right-wing misinformation. Biden walks in and gets his doors blown off. The cat is out of the bag, and the emperors lack of clothes is there for all to see. Now all those voters who voted for the left in ’20 and ’22 started telling internal Democrat pollsters “Yeah, I know he was the normal guy but….oh my god did you see that!?”. They panicked, especially once they realized that he was so far gone that he was convinced (or Jill was, same thing) that he would stay. What I believe happened is that they didn’t give him a choice. told Jill and Joe that if he didn’t voluntarily step down they would “25th amendment” him.
Now the question is how many of those in-between voters, naturally more inclined to vote Dems as in ’20 and ’22, were in the Trump camp long enough to resist the next few months of “Trump is crazy and Kamala is “NORMAL”.
July 24, 2024 11:37 am at 11:37 am #2299415Sam KleinParticipantNo need for all of us to waste our time arguing who will win the presidential race for election season cause we all know the Truth. HASHEM HAS ALREADY DECIDED WHO WILL BE HIS SHLIACH TO RUN THE USA NEXT TERM so only serious Teshuva and Achdus together as one loving nation can bring Mashiach and avoid this whole entire upcoming election season from effecting us yidden in Klal yisroel.
July 24, 2024 11:38 am at 11:38 am #2299421Sam KleinParticipantA shocking message DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM from Trump’s last election against Hillary Clinton and now they want to try her to go for president if not Harris
THE MESSAGE
The gematriya of “Donald Trump” is “Moshiach ben David”!
דונלד טראמפ = 424 = משיח בן דוד
דונלד=94
טראמפ= 330
=424
משיח=358
בן=52
דוד=14
=424
Unbelievable!Not wanting to be a one-party animal, I took the liberty of gematrifying הילרי קלינטון. Hillary Clinton
Look at what I found. First of all her first and last names have identical gematriyas
הילרי = 5+10+30+200+10 = 255
קלינטון=100+30+10+50+9+6+50=255
Now 255 is gematriya עמלקיה –
Amalekia that’s a female member of AmalekSo who are YOU voting for?
July 24, 2024 11:39 am at 11:39 am #2299486QuayboardwarriorParticipantIt was rather smart of Biden to wait until after the Republican National Convention but before the DNC to step down.
The Republicans spent their entire convention and 10s of millions hammering Biden, only for him to step down right before the DNC. Stepping down after the DNC would’ve spelled disaster for the party.
It really was masterfully strategic timing.
July 25, 2024 9:48 am at 9:48 am #2299737jdf007ParticipantI thought they said Harris was a bad choice when she was picked as VP. Completely unlikable. Now all of a sudden the worst pick ever is the best.
And we’re voting based on VP picks?I like Stefanik, but it would be immediate ridicule like they did to Palin and everyone else who is on the wrong team.
July 25, 2024 9:48 am at 9:48 am #2299740Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantWell, you can also say that he stepped down only after assassination of his opponent was not successful …
you can also quote Pres B who said that he will only step down by the direct message from Almighty… Did he receive such a message? I think we believe that there are no non-Jewish naviim after Bilam, is it a firm position or just a dig at other religions? Maybe one of his Jewish subordinates or relatives got the message? Or maybe he got an indirect hint from Almighty (he is smart than the Gadol of his site!). Maybe it took him a couple of weeks to realize that his debate performance was such a message … or poll results are also a message.
July 25, 2024 9:48 am at 9:48 am #2299741Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantYou need to consider the following: before this election, there was a certain segment of the society that liked R- and Trump’s policies but were conditioned that they can not be responsible for “letting democracy die”, so did not vote for Trump. When confronted with an alternative of a Wizard of Oz presidency, some of them decided that voting for Trump is OK, and that was reflected in polls. So, now with a live D- candidate, these people may reconsider, but they passed the psychological barrier and now need to be actually convinced to vote for D-.
July 25, 2024 11:53 am at 11:53 am #2299866skripkaParticipant@Always_ask_Questions Very true. I know quite a few people (as I partially exist in the Marrano world of Frum Jews who are center-left/left-wing) who were not voting for Biden because of the absolutely tremendous level of his inability to be president, who are now in her camp because she symbolizes status quo and normalacy, unlike Trump who they were going to vote for begrudgingly/ not vote at all.
Trump has 44% of the vote from his base, those aren’t going away. Will the in-betweeners who were more than happy to vote Democrat in 2022 stay with him, or switch back to Kamala? If she sounds strong, and the GOP continues to focus on dumb attacks like “The Democrats are cutting out the voters who voted for Biden!” or “She laughs funny!” She has a strong chance of winning. Al she needs is a decent convention and she might even be in the lead by Labor Day.

Wisconsin 48.0 47.3 Trump +0.7
Pennsylvania 48.2 44.6 Trump +3.6

Georgia 48.5 44.0 Trump +4.5
Trump Harris
Betting Odds 57.1 35.1of course, these numbers were very stable for Trump/Biden, and we can expect more volatility now as people learn about Harris, and she might get some from convention and VP choice.

July 29, 2024 9:10 am at 9:10 am #23003242scentsParticipantReb E,
What is behind the affinity for Harris or disdain against Trump that you pose?
Is it Trump as a person, his accomplishments, policies, or the state of the country under his presidency that you take issue with?
Is there anything Harris can do or say to make you consider not supporting her and to vote for Trump?
July 29, 2024 9:11 am at 9:11 am #2300375skripkaParticipantOh please, lets stop with the gematrias and remazim that are just made up fluff. They go both ways, קאמאלא is Gematria 173, and there are 173 words in the Aseres Hadibros! That must mean she’s great, right?
July 29, 2024 9:16 am at 9:16 am #2300548TRUEBTParticipantRCP no toss-ups map shows Trump would win 312 electoral college votes and Harris would get 226 if the election had been held July 23.
Calling Harris the “End of MAGA” is irrational. She has no experience in international relations. She has no qualifications to be the Commander in Chief.
She fully supports DEI which means hiring and admissions is no longer an attempt to find the most qualified candidates. DEI is legalized discrimination against white men. And lets not forget that she fully supports the largest budget in history which will make inflation worse than it already is.
The city of New York is losing around 200 police officers per month. At that rate, 4 years of Harris would result in a total loss of 10,000 police officers. (200 officers /month multiplied by 50 months.) Put that together with millions more illegal immigrants, and it is not a rosy future.
Yes, we are all tired of the Trump circus. It was stupid to say he will bomb Iran. All he has to say is he will restore sanctions to be to the right of Harris. He can say he will give the bombs to Israel and let Israel do the dirty work. If the US bombs Iran, they will retaliate against the US. It was stupid to say he will be dictator for a day. Perhaps we should daven that he will be sentenced to sit in jail, so he will not be able to say stupid things in public until after the election is over.July 30, 2024 9:10 am at 9:10 am #2301083yechiellParticipantTrump says you won’t have to vote anymore if he is elected.

July 30, 2024 4:28 pm at 4:28 pm #2301222Dr. PepperParticipantWhy are you taking things out of context?
Unfortunately this is a very critical time in our country’s history and what he was saying was that you have to vote him into office so that he can fix the mess left by Biden. Once he gets back into office and makes this country great again you won’t have to vote anymore if you don’t want to.
Until recently I never bothered to vote and I’m yearning for the day when I won’t have to anymore.
Why does his comment about people not having to vote anymore trigger you more than Harris getting the nomination without ordinary citizens being able to vote on it?

August 1, 2024 1:50 pm at 1:50 pm #2301880Yserbius123Participant@dr-pepper I can answer for that. Trump’s lies are on a level of magnitude worse than Biden’s lies. It’s like comparing some college kid saying “I don’t like Netanyahu” to a rabid fascist declaring that Jews need to die and saying that they are both the same.
August 2, 2024 9:23 am at 9:23 am #2302032Reb EliezerParticipantThe difference between Trump’s narcissism is that he thinks that he knows everything so he pushes out his greatest advisors. Anything who does not agree him is persona non grata. does not exist.

August 2, 2024 9:25 am at 9:25 am #2302040Dr. PepperParticipantI was hoping to get a response from @yechiell but he obviously has something to hide. I stopped conversing with you over two years ago as you seem to have some serious honesty issues. But given that this post is about lying, something you’re experienced in, I’m going to make an exception and respond.
I asked @yechiell for a single example of where President Trump lied during the debate and the instance he mentioned was when President Trump downplayed the events of January 6th. I asked him why that bothers him more than the outright lie from Biden that he’s the only president this century who doesn’t have any, this decade, that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world.
Are you equating Bidens lie to being the same magnitude of “some college kid saying “I don’t like Netanyahu””” while equating President Trumps downplay of the events of January 6th to the magnitude of “a rabid fascist declaring that Jews need to die”?
August 2, 2024 3:51 pm at 3:51 pm #2302068Yserbius123Participant@Dr-Pepper I would like to respond to your accusations, but I frankly don’t remember you at all.
Anyway, I was not referring to the debate (where Trump was very toned down from his usual self) rather in general. Trump made up about a thousand different stories regarding the huge stacks of classified documents on prominent display in his house and people tried to equate that to Biden saying it was an accident when a handful of classified documents were found mixed in with a bunch of other stuff at his house. Then there was things from his increasingly bizarre explanations as to why his lawyer paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a zoinah, to stupidly inane stuff that anyone can check out, like the size of the crowd at his inauguration. Biden lies about on par as a regular politician, but Trump lies as a matter of course when he opens his mouth.
August 2, 2024 3:51 pm at 3:51 pm #2302105Reb EliezerParticipantAccording to CNN Trump made more than 30 false statements at the debate.

August 2, 2024 6:24 pm at 6:24 pm #2302159GadolhadorahParticipantReb E: 37 instances of either direct lies or misstatements to be precise. At the Black Journalists meeting in Chicago this week, he complained about the “delay” related to the sound system (which was resolved in a few minutes) In reality, he himself had refused to go on stage if there was real-time “fact-checking” on the organization’s website. After about 45 minutes, he finally relented and came on stage.
Given his tendency to engage in personal insults, demeaning comments etc. (especially when challenged by female and minority reporters), go off on rants and refuse to directly answer questions even after follow ups by the reporter, some effort at fact-checking would seem essential. -
