Does the frum community really need this many auto leasing companies? It seems like an excessive number of companies are opening nearly every week.

They can’t really all be making enough money to stay in business, can they? And, of course, they all charge the same price — the price they receive from the auto manufacturers.

    Apparently they are.

I recently leased a car. I called a number of places, all gave me basically the same price (within a few dollars).

I made my decision based on the one that was able to get me the car soonest

I just got my car from the dealer directly. Much easier

I got my car from a leasing company. It was incredibly easy. I made a few phone calls on Thursday, and the car was in from of my house on Friday afternoon. I can’t imagine getting it straight from the dealer being any easier than that.

And this way a Jew makes some money. Win-win

Leasing is a waste of money.

Buy don’t lease. If you can’t afford it, buy what you can afford.

I got my car pretty quickly from the dealer and I got exactly what I wanted at the best possible price (You have to negotiate tough with car dealers)

I dont lease cars, i only purchase them

A lease can be more affordable than buying a car.

Aderaba, there is a line of thinking which goes that buying is a waste.

The only aderaba is to make those who wasted money on an auto lease assuge their feelings after throwing away money. There’s no financial advantage that can be enumerated for a lease versus purchasing an affordable vehicle.

Sure there is. If you plan on buying a new car and then selling it after a few years, you would often be better off leasing. When you lease a car, the total you end up paying is basically the depreciation of the car over the term of the lease. If you buy a car and sell it, there’s no guarantee that you’ll sell it for what it’s worth, so you end up losing. And this is even more true if you can’t afford the car and have to finance it anyway.
