The Nitei Gavriel in perek beis, halacha tes (hilchos chanuka) brings down a psak regarding an almana who is supported from nicsei yesomim, that the yesomim must provide her with funds for neiros chanuka and enough for her to light according to the mehadrin opinion if she chooses. His sources are brought down.
Are you addressing the issue of women lighting Chanukah candles? Everyone agrees that a woman living alone is obligated to light.

Want respect? Be respectable. Want deference? Be worthy of it. Want to be a leader? Stop bloviating about how you have a right to be a leader and LEAD.

October 8, 2018 11:45 am at 11:45 am #1600603Reb EliezerParticipantThere are three views in a Bas Mitzva, Rav Moshe Stern, Beer Moshe, Debretziner Rav who holds that it is something being done by the reformers and if invited, not to go. There is no open distinction before reaching of age and after, whereas a bar mitzva puts on tefilin. Reb Moshe who holds that it is optional no mitzva involved like any other birthday party and Rav Yaakov Weinberg the Saridei Aish who says that it is necessary to make it so the girls should not feel left out. Examining all the pros and cons, I decided, for modesty reasons, to make it for women only.
October 8, 2018 6:44 pm at 6:44 pm #1600995JosephParticipantRav Moshe has three psakim reiterating not to make a ceremony.
December 2, 2018 6:38 pm at 6:38 pm #1635413JosephParticipantObviously the question is pertinent to mishpachas with the minhag kodesh of only boys lighting.
