On eBay and on their own websites, sellers sell what they claim are purple watermelon and rainbow strawberry seeds. They have pictures of the plants that are clearly photoshopped, but clearly, people fall for them. Judging by reviews, they send grass seed so that the gullible customers see something growing, and by the time they realize there’s no such thing as a blue pumpkin, it’s too late.
The sellers are from China. There are lots of Chinese fraudulent sellers of all kinds of stuff on both eBay and Amazon. Buying a $2.49 packet of seeds is probably a worthwhile investment if it teaches you this lesson.
