What I heard is that her father was, but not her mother. Again, just something I heard without confirming.

Just several that I thought of that way outdo any “contemporary personalities” who claim to represent some lofty notions of government, but feed their own egos in the process.

I don’t know if it’s pride. I know some people are proud of the fact that Ike Davis (for example) is Jewish, but even someone who’s not proud of it (e.g. yours truly) can find it a matter of mild interest.

Do you have a source for that? His mother’s last name was Armstrong, which is not a name that is associated with being Jewish.

Jackie Mason’s brother, Rabbi Maza, performed my nephew’s bris. It was a show; not a pleasant experience at all, but not my choice. All three of his brothers were/are Rabbonim.

Rabbi Maza O”H had a bracha under my son’s chuppah. He looked SO much like his brother Jackie, that it was very startling to be standing under the chuppah with him there. I am not certain Paul Newman’s mother was Jewish, and Anthony Weiner’s mom was Italian, I believe.

Rumors of Elvis Presley’s supposed Jewish heritage are just that– rumors. As a teenager, he was in fact a shabbos goy for a frum family that lived in his building.
I hear that R’ Alfred Fruchter, zt”l and his rebbetzin, a”h were quite fond of him.
Elvis was a Shabbos goy not because he was non-Jewish, but because he didn’t know what it meant to be halachically Jewish. According to what I’ve read, he knew he had Jewish ancestry and identified with it, but people he knew in the recording industry were afraid to tell him that since the ancestry was from his maternal line (I think it was his mother’s mother’s mother or something like that) that meant he was Jewish. They were afraid that if he knew he would become a practicing Jew and that that would hurt his career. It may not have been definitively proven but one of his biographers writes that his mother’s mother mother or whatever was Jewish. Some Chabadniks made a film about Elvis’s Jewishness a few years ago (which I haven’t seen).
Bob Dylan periodically shows up to Orthodox shuls (often Chabad) in random locations on Yom Kippur (and perhaps other holidays or on Shabbos — I don’t know). People usually figure out who is he and give him an aliyah.

Harrison Ford’s mother was Jewish but his father wasn’t. At least according to my aunt who lived a few houses down from them. And according to Wikipedia. 🙂
