Some may know (I think I wrote it) that I am friends with Feif Un. We work at the same company, and we’ve known each other for a long time.
A few weeks ago he told me he was leaving the CR. I saw his post, and saw what prompted him to leave. I wasn’t as affected as him – maybe I just have thicker skin. But yesterday there was a hateful post directed at me. It wasn’t just a regular argument over an opinion, it was a personal attack, filled with insults, directed at me personally.
In the thread about throwing bleach, Ferd wrote the following, directed at me:
“Thanks for letting us all know that you are a Ferd.”
“Your an utter disgrace to Yiddishkeit.”
“Ferd”
In the rules of the Coffee Room post, the first rule is this:
I don’t know how the moderators can let posts like the ones Ferd wrote go through. The post clearly is hateful, hurtful, and vicious. It clearly violates the rules of the CR. Not only should the post not have been allowed through, Ferd should have been banned from the CR.
One second, let’s understand this.
You can publicly curse out the Satmar rebbe (by name) and get away with it, but when another person does that to you (anonymously on a totally anonymous forum), you have an issue with it?
Here was your comment:
“I simply received false information – kind of like all the Satmar chassidim who listened to their Rebbe regarding the Weberman trial.”
Not to mention you cursed out every single member of Hatzolah, all based on a TOTALLY FALSE article in the NY Post.
I think you should be banned from the CR.

This is the internet and there are troll, You do need to get a thicker skin otherwise you cant properly express your opinon.
There are plenty of trolls who think they can bully me here, but they are wrong and I dont really care what they have to say and by not answering and ignoring them it makes them look at lot worse

Its strange, because I thought the same thing, until I realized the truth. These sects are not to the “right”, but are really “left”. They disregard Offen Halachos of Zmanim. They don’t have any qualms in being Gonev Da’as Briyos (which is Assur Leculei Alma to anyone) or holding that Tax fraud is Muttar (as per his own testimony!!!), which is neged Offen Gemaros and Shulchan Aruch. Their shittos were created 200-300 years ago, while ours of Halacha & Limud HaTorah have been around for thousands of years!
They are the “leftists” who have their own agenda to change Yiddishkeit from our true Mesora all the way back to Moshe Rabbainu!!
And you want to know the scary part? They (so far) have been succeding. Bezras Hahaem this will be a setback to their anti-Torah ideas, and their sect leader, who helps us understand how it could be that:

P.S. I don’t think the Vilna Gaon (my great(x5) grandfather) would condone this L”H and machlokes. He may have held a different view, certainly not this Great Divide.

I thought about it before I submitted, and respectfully disagree. If they believe their Shittos are correct, then Kol HaKavod to them. However, they can’t make the claim that they are “authentic Yiddishkeit”. Those who are machshiv Limud HaTorah (not who your great uncle or grandfather was) are the real torch carriers of the Ribbono Shel Olam. Those who try to add things other than Torah as “mitzvos” (such as the Denier number of stockings) have added to Yiddishkeit what Hashem has not asked.
However, you are correct that certain comments made by a certain “great nephew” have gotten me livid. When he apologizes to whom he slandered in public, I will do the same (even though I believe there is no Halachic reason for me to do so).
DaMo- Two things you need to learn about the CR:
1) You need to be more “Selective” about what personal information you share here.
2) Don’t bother fighting with The Talking Horse here

Really, that long ago? Many of their groups were started in the last 100 years. And many of their shittos were just reactions to modern life.
I think that if one is called a Ferd by someone whose screen name AND subtitle contain the word ferd, he should not be too insulted. Like when members of a certain race call each other the N word all the time and its perfectly fine, kind of as a professional courtesy.
But don’t you just love the guys who say, “Not to mention . . .” and then they go right away and mention it!
