Well, that is exactly what foie gras is! You feed the goose, and then you eat them!
In all fairness, most frum Jews can’t afford foie gras, regardless of its halachic status. Bnei Torah eat a lot more bread and cheese than tortured goose.

I agree that foie gras is halachically problematic, but there are mattirim. Ma shein kein driving buses on Shabbos.

It is disgreaceful to see so many posters denigrate and express virtual hatred to a fellow Jew in these Nine Days and any time,actually! “Shtopgenz’ is ossur according to many poskim and I cannot see why Rav Lipman should be accused of all the ills of the world because he brought this bill to the floor! BTW- 58- 10.He won!
I think that there are far more pressing concerns in Israel than people eating fatty goose liver.
Veal, foie gras, etc. will always be controversial. Meat consumption and dairy consumption are inherently controversial. Anything that boosts Israel’s economy is a good thing, and Israel is probably the only place (maybe other than France) where a person can get kosher foie gras.
