    Why do I feel like noshing some food @ 12:30 @ night? I don’t want nosh. Only real food. I have more work to finish for tomorrow and it seems like my body forgot that I ate supper only a few hours ago. Why do I feel ready for another meal so late @ night?

    P.S. HELP! I don’t want to gain tonz of weight eating four meals a day!

    What should I tell you? I so understand you… I’m sitting and drinking a coffee with a piece of chocolatd and thinking to myself why in the world are you drinking coffee now (2:25am) ??!

    But I think my prob. is that I love these hours of my day, and its part of enjoying it. But maybe you eat too early supper, and by that many hours after your meal your body is hungry again?

    It is perfectly normal to want to eat late at night. Try having 4 lighter meals – there is no reason that this should cause you to gain any weight. alternetively, thry eating dinner later, say around 9:30

    man, kollel101, if you don’t want to gain weight, you better do something fast! Eating late night snack (sorry, fooooood) is really not healthy, and not healthy means you are abusing your body! See a nutritionist, or (don’t be afraid)maybe peek and pick out a diet-there’s so many out there.

    3 Eitzos:

    for starters, drink alot during the day, and with meals. no, not booze, water! (I drink tons of WATER too BTW)sometimes the body THINKS it’s hungry but really needs to drink.

    Also brush your teeth, this helps btw.

    Thirdly, you can eat and eat and eat, and still be hungry. how? if what you’re eating is not healthy, you can be eating for an hour straight, but your body is screaming (that’s the hunger you feel)”I need nutrition!!!” Just because you ATE doesn’t automatically mean you will FEEL FULL! If you supply your body with vegetables, fruit, proteins, etc, stuff that your BODY needs, not what your BRAIN needs, then you will feel satisfied. Hatzlochah rabbah!

    I dont touch food after 8:00 PM but I will drink water. (That’s all I drink all day) Whenever you are hungry, drink a big cup of water and you might not feel like eating afterwards.

    OMG!! hello DRINK DRINK DRINK DRINK AND DRINK AGAIN WATER!!!! THE BEST THING AND HELPS BURN CALS!! (no dont wrry Im not on a diet..Im on a diet 2 gain..lol jj!!) Also dont stuff urself..after u eat and dont stuff urself ull feel FULL!!

    koillel101 – try eating 5 SMALL meals everyday whith HEALTHY snaks between (10 almonds etc). no, you will not gain weight as this is the ideal diet because you are keeping your metabolism working, and yourself full all day, meaning that you snack on junk less, and you probably wont feel hungry so late at nite…

    How should I explain this 5 meal system to my wife??

    She works way too long on the three meals I ate til now!

    try helping her a little. MAKE YOUR OWN SANDWICH!!! or you can eat the same food in smaller portions 2 times….

    When you are tired you body is craving sleep, and the need to eat is just to compensate for sleep deprivation. Try a hot tea, which gives you a temporary full feeling and is relaxing and then hit the sack. Happy zzzzzz!

    why dont you just go to sleep and wake up in the morning and eat breakfast. or eat cereal and milk. its the most awesome food invention around- no mess, no preparation and good any time of the day or night!

    happy to help. I think when I eat fleishigs I’m not so hungry so fast. its the milk nights that I’m starving 2 hours later

    This is my first post in a while-

    but one idea i use to feel full longer is i try to chew my food well before swallowing. It really helps because the stomach can process each bite before the next one. don’t know how this helps but i know that it works.

    thanks BPG! I just wonder if it wont make me hungrier cuz the body processes the food so much quicker when its well chewed. No? I may be wrong.

    Welcome back, BPG.

    koillel, are you hungry or do you want to eat? Big difference. Try baby carrots (or another crunchy veg). You can even add chumus or something with it. The “crunchy” will make you feel like your eating a heavier meal but its healthy and you’ll feel full enough to get rid of the hungry (or time to nosh) feeling and the prep work is almost zero. If the carrots get boring, try peppers or cucumbers. If you want real crunch, try a raw potato (also a segula for parnassa for your dentist) ?.

    What does Milchig have to do with starving?

    I would say that because you ate Milchig you have a bigger variety left for you to eat.

    thats why we wait 5 and a half hours or 6 hours between milchig and fleishig cuz then its treif…
