You can get 1 free night in the Ramada New Yorker using the Ramada.com Best rate Guarantee! (most dates in March and April available!)
Okay, then what is a “Best Rate Guarantee”?
A “Best Rate Guarantee” is a hotel chain’s guarantee that they will provide the lowest rate available on the internet, or provide you with some form of compensation, whether that be rate matching, beating by a percent amount, or in our case, giving you the room free of charge.
Go to ramada.com. Search the date you want (2 adults only!) for New York, New York.
Click on the Ramada New Yorker. Compare the Suite with 2 double beds (Best Rate available, NOT THE ADVANCE PREPAY!)
If the room is listed as $299 (before taxes), then you are in luck. Check out expedia.com, and see if the offer the same room at the New Yorker for $289.
If expedia is cheaper, then make the reservation at ramada.com (best available rate, not the prepay. You’ll cancel if you get turned down).
Then fill out the Claim Form: http://www.ramada.com/Ramada/control/guaranteed_best_rate_claim_form.
Fill out the form about 4 times (every 45 min). This way it wont get “lost”
You’ll get an e-mail either telling you that you’ve been approved or denied. If denied, resubmit the claim. If 48 working hours pass, cancel the reservation.
Technically, if approved, Ramada will pay for your room (the base rate) and you’re on the hook for the taxes.
Good Luck and Please share your success with this here in the CR!

Weren’t there hotels (hoxton?) offering rooms for a quid?
February 23, 2009 10:25 pm at 10:25 pm #639566JayMatt19ParticipantThanks. I have done this a few times. Great when you can get the Wingate (around the block) for free the next night as well. That is when we really had fun. Shame, though, that they implemented changes limiting the free nights. Oh well, guess you couldn’t expect it to last

February 25, 2009 5:05 am at 5:05 am #639574JosephParticipant39, did you find this on FatWallet?
February 25, 2009 5:09 am at 5:09 am #639575qwertyuiopMembermod39: sorry, but i’m not interested YET.$
February 25, 2009 5:47 am at 5:47 am #639577Josh31ParticipantWith what I heard about the tax rates in NYC, paying only taxes comes out to 10-20% discount.
February 25, 2009 1:09 pm at 1:09 pm #639580YW Moderator-39MemberJosh – Paying taxes would mean MAYBE paying $50 on a $300 room. I fail to see how you calculated your figure.
Joseph- Word of mouth amongst friends who are doing it. Thought I’d share it with other frum people who might need a break pre/post pesach.
What’s Fatwallet? some type of deal site?
February 25, 2009 1:11 pm at 1:11 pm #639581SJSinNYCMemberMod fatwallet is an awesome site, though I prefer slickdeals.net – check them both out for awesome deals.
February 25, 2009 1:22 pm at 1:22 pm #639582YW Moderator-39MemberI use eDealinfo (which also has a UK site!). I also use flyertalk for travel.
Lets try to keep this on topic, though
February 25, 2009 2:23 pm at 2:23 pm #639583JayMatt19ParticipantFatwallet is great. Love the cashback. Shame, however, I often forget to click on the merchant via Fatwallet, thereby forfeiting the cashback.

Sorry, personal information cannot be divulged. I am every so sorry.
On a side note, are you within the confines of the Northwest London Eruv? Are you for it or against it? and have you ever been denied an aliya because of your position?
(Of course, you could be a Manc or even a Scouser, but for the time being I’ll assume not)
March 2, 2009 9:30 am at 9:30 am #639590noitallmrParticipantWhat gives you the impression that I’m a Cockney???
And what’s a Scouser? (Forgive my ignorance!)

Like what? Like “They Think it’s all over…It is now” and The Hand of G-d, and A humorous way the cricket broadcaster described the action between Peter Wiley and Michael Holding.
