free sound editor programs

anyone have any recommendations for a free and easy to use sound editing program? I used to have Audacity. should I try it again or is there something better?

it would be for vocals and piano/keyboard recording mostly. any suggestions?

I have heard of a program called ‘Logic’ – not free but actually worth $400; available free online.

yekke, i asked for info on FREE downloads, not for free pirated copies. for example, audacity is a free program download available on the web.

i’m not asking where to find a copy of the newest photoshop. i’m looking for an open-source program

Audaicty 2.0 is out now, we use it in the school I work in and it’s a very decent, easy-to-use all-rounder.

how old is audacity 2.0? I had audacity from 2 years ago but I don’t know what version it was.

hm sounds good. do you know if it works well with built-in mikes or better with a plug-in? it would be for fun really…

Plug-ins seem to work better in school.
