Does anyone know if the Gaavad Yerushalayim election in the Eidah Hachareidis is still happening this month or has the date been changed?
Who are the candidates?
Who gets to vote?
So they cancelled the election and declared R’ Shternbuch to be the new head of the Eidah. Apparently, no one objected (or at least no one was willing to voice any concerns).
R’ Shternbuch was declared by one member to be the new Gaavad. There were others who protested this. It was not done as an official vote, so it’s not binding. Currently, there is no official Gaavad. No idea on whether a vote will be held or not.
Is the Sullivan County NY coroner position on the ballot this year?
It seems that people here are surprised that they were not asked to serve on the Selection Committee.
There are several regular CR posters who are likely among the lamud vov tzadikim and would be excellent candidates to serve on the selection committee, assuming one is ever convened. Clearly, there could be no electronic voting machines or absentee ballots allowed
May whomever is ultimately selected be a Ro’eh Ne’eman for his Keheila.
