I just watched the IDF “What You Cant See on the UN Maps of Gaza.” My question is: If Gaza is so densely populated where in actuality could Hamas militants fight their “oppressors” that wouldn’t endanger civilians. I am NOT pro-Hamas, just wondering….

They don’t need to bunker under hospitals
They don’t need to force civilians to stay in the line of fire
They don’t need to store weapons in schools
August 28, 2014 4:14 am at 4:14 am #1030409Sam2Participantithink: It doesn’t matter. A military embedded in a civilian population by lack of choice is still a military embedded in a civilian population. Also, there are lots of open areas, even if the cities are super-crowded.

August 28, 2014 6:06 pm at 6:06 pm #1030412BarryLS1ParticipantIt is far from the most densely populated place. That’s just propaganda. They have room to demand an airport and sea port. You need room for that, right?
Anyway, they have more room now, but we should have given them even more space.

By storing one’s missiles too close to the brethren one seeks to protect, one is endangering rather than protecting the ones one seeks to protect.
Oh, dear.
August 28, 2014 9:21 pm at 9:21 pm #1030414☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThey don’t claim to be seeking to protect anyone.
August 28, 2014 10:28 pm at 10:28 pm #1030415akupermaParticipantIt would be almost impossible for the Gazan’s military to operate without endanger civilians. Urban warfare is like that. It’s hypocritical of them to complain that civilians are being killed, but remember from their perspective that if they don’t keep fighting the Israelis their claims will grow stale. Remember that from their perspective, Israel is increasingly weak, with tremendous internal dissent, most of the major western countries looking for a way to push them under the bus, and with the militant and revived Islam growing, the Gazans figure it is just a matter of time until they are able to retake control of Eretz Yisrael.
September 1, 2014 10:24 pm at 10:24 pm #1030416yehudayonaParticipantAlan Dershowitz wrote an article in which he argues that there are lots of areas of Gaza that are not densely populated. It’s on the Gatestone Institute website.
