On Rosh Hashanah, I eat it without chrein.

I don’t check the CR for a few days and I return to find it has become the gefilte fish room. What type of coffee goes best with gefilte fish?

I don’t know yehuda but you should make it with gefiltered water.

He might not have written the thread title. (Look at the URL.)

Then again, he knows how to change usernames, so

maybe it was him – it’s certainly in his style.

    ‘Twas I.

It definitely was you. ( a mod not brave enough to affix signature!)

And no, there’s no way for us, little mortal beings, to alter the title. Even little humble i.

Imagine if they made dehydrated gefilte fish chips.

Like slice the gefilte fish into thin discs and then dehydrate until crispy.

It’s like Jewish space food. Someone needs to patent it for NASA.

    No offense lightbrite, but-

lol golfer… It’s been so long since I’ve heard ichsa. Thank you. That just warmed my heart 🙂

…Ischa yes true, but imagine if you then dipped the gefilte chip in stuff. Hummus. Guacamole. Something that overpowers the taste buds.

It’s the way to eat it without realizing you’re eating it. Much better than the ice cream version.

“On Rosh Hashanah, I eat it without chrein.”

On Rosh Hashanah, I eat it with chrein. Does that make me a goy?

Dunno how to answer this question most sensitively.

    However… this is my attempt:

No, I don’t know, but all that I do know is that it likely just makes your breath a joy.

I think frozen cholent on a stick is a much better idea than dehydrated gefilte fish chips.

Many people eat Chrein R”H if it’s made without REAL vinegar. Apparently synthetic acetic acid is okay.

    Good point.

I only like the frozen cholent on a stick when it’s dipped in cashew pieces. Sometimes I like the kind with a chocolate core too. Either way it’s the cashews that really jazz it up.

If you don’t want to eat them, gefilte fish chips can add an aesthetic touch when placed vertically on top of pies.

They also can be smashed and placed as the crust in lieu of graham crackers. It’s actually printed in the latest *Spice and Spirit* cookbook.

Ohhhh!!! Because it’s not sweet you mean. And on Rosh Hashanah we’re supposed to abstain from bitter sour foods.

    Now I get it.

    Thanks Mammele for the clue
