Someone here suggested there was no inherent praise for Rav Ada action in this Gemorah. It seems obvious there is, and I wanted to bring two other sources to support this:
Perhaps a bit similar (though mostly different) to when the Kohen takes off the Sotah’s garment.
It’s done to the sota to embarass her for what shes done. (Even if she was innocent of the serious crime, she was guilty of yichud.)
