I don’t know how many people have this problem but from the people I asked it sounds like many people have this complaint. During hoshanos on sukkos we circle the bima with our Lulavim and for some reason many people think that part of the minhag is to squeeze yourself as close as possible to the bima and trample anyone in their path. There is no reason that in a small shul everyone should be trying to be in the center of everything it would be very helpful if people would know that its not that important to circle the bima in such close proximity when there is enough room a little further away. Please spread the word.

Maybe you don’t care about being saved. If so, BACK OFF!!!

September 30, 2015 3:14 am at 3:14 am #1101063JosephParticipantWho said you gotta complete the circle around the bima?
September 30, 2015 4:09 am at 4:09 am #1101064walkieParticipantThere’s an app out there where you can see whats in front of you while reading the hoshanus so you don’t trip on anyone. I think its only available for the iPhone check it out it’s called the Lulov Companion. I wonder if anyone would use it
September 30, 2015 2:43 pm at 2:43 pm #1101065☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo this morning, I made a big klop on the bimah and announced that nobody is allowed to go to the center unless they have an iPhone.
The rabbi stoned me with his esrog.
September 30, 2015 3:11 pm at 3:11 pm #1101066Sam2ParticipantDY: I don’t believe ou that the Rabbi stoned you. You’re Passul L’eidus for endorsing iPhone usage.
September 30, 2015 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm #1101067☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI don’t believe ou
Then I didn’t really condone use of an iPhone, so I’m not passul l’eidus.

Since we say ein odom maisim atzmo rosho we can not believe him that he made such an announcement rather we believe that someone made such an announcement in his shul.
Either way I believe there’s no issue of ne’monus here because it’s a gillui milsa be’alma.
