I always give hitches to bucherim, especially if they attend the TROLLER yeshiva or they going to the troll shul or if they are affiliated with sockpuppet mosdos.
I don’t give rides to hitchhikers so they cannot rob or kill me. So far, it works. And I have never seen a buchir, or someone dressed like a buchir, hitchhiking. But I would not stop for him/her either.
For the US:
As US became richer, number of regular people needing a hike decreased. So, the chances that a hiker is a dangerous person increased, and generally picking up people is not a social norm anymore.
Waze allows people to register as riders and drivers. If you have specific Jewish destinations, I suggest may people aware of this Waze option so that people register and start helping each other.
1. Hitchhikng isnt safe, for the driver or the passenger.
2. בחורים belong either in the בית מדגש or in the IDF.
3. There are plenty of other ways to get somewhere they legitimately need to me.
Coffee,
2 & 3 definitely apply.
1 too, when you consider that youd still need a ride back.
I’m the wrong person to ask, I dont think משולחים going door to door is appropriate these days either.
