For elementary you can do so many cute ideas for G.O. You can do a color theme, around the world theme, different stores and brand names, drinks, occupations ect. 🙂September 9, 2012 2:48 am at 2:48 am #897271brotherofursParticipant
we had in the past-
– exercise which was very cute (like a big converse on the bulletin board and stuff)
-sailing, like the sea and stuff
-electronics, like apple symbol and they made this really cute bulletin board out of upside down egg cartons that looked like a keyboard
-games -very cutee!September 9, 2012 3:19 am at 3:19 am #897272WIYMember

i know SGO stands for “student government organization” so GO must stand for government org or some variation of itSeptember 9, 2012 9:13 pm at 9:13 pm #897276
It really stands for General Office, over the years in jewish circles it has come to mean the extra ciricular activities for girls on rosh chodesh. MY guess is once it was a theme to Rosh Chodosh for a school thing and the idea came to always call it G.O.September 9, 2012 10:10 pm at 10:10 pm #897277RABBAIMParticipant

my sisters just informed me that G.O. stands for general organizationSeptember 10, 2012 2:29 am at 2:29 am #897279
Noone actually knows what it means, but they have some good guesses. The idea is really just to make rosh chodesh something to look forward to and this is how they achieve it.September 13, 2012 12:34 am at 12:34 am #897280Want MoshiachMember
Thanks! Yeah, it stands for General Organization. It takes more than that to run it, though!
My friend told me of the theme “G.O. on wheels”, which in Hebrew is “al galgalim”- and the 1st letters are ayin-gimmel. We’d focus on circles (bec. last year we did travel) ex: “makes the world go round”, etc.
Does anyone know of a passuk to tie in?
Thanks a bunch!September 23, 2012 5:11 am at 5:11 am #897281brotherofursParticipant
