October 8, 2013 1:44 am at 1:44 am #977735TheGoqParticipantThere is the 317 NJ transit bus that goes from Philly (not sure where in Philly) to the Lakewood bus terminal in the heart of downtown Lakewood.

October 8, 2013 2:16 am at 2:16 am #977737–ParticipantNJ Transit Route 317. This route no longer goes through Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst so you don’t need to provide ID anymore.
In Philadelphia it stops at the Greyhound terminal, 1 short block from Market East Station with connections to all SEPTA trains except the Norristown line.

October 8, 2013 8:11 am at 8:11 am #977740Oh Shreck!ParticipantNo going anywhere. Lakewood is currently in a state of lock-down (freezer). Transportation to resume in six months.

If you ask around you will find that there are rides every day, including people who commute and people who use the Philadelphia doctors and medical services.
October 8, 2013 1:25 pm at 1:25 pm #977742LevAryehMemberDriving in a car from Philadelphia (the Overbrook/Merion area, where the yeshiva is) to Lakewod takes about an hour and a quarter.
Taking the R5 train to the Greyhound bus terminal and catching the bus to Lakewood takes over three hours. I’ve done it a few times. Also, there are no bathroom stops and the crowd on the bus is unsavory to say the least.
