I did. And here are my post-dentist comments.
1. I should become a dentist, because I really like talking, but I don’t like listening quite as much. So a dentist is the perfect job for that.
2. I have a car, and I never ever change the oil. But every once in a while, something breaks and I need to take it to the mechanic. So I quickly have the oil changed before I go.
Gross!
Do you mean in 2. that you only brush your teeth before a dentist visit?! NASTY!

That was very courageous of PBA. Going to the dentist is a very scary thing.
2. At least you ‘change the oil’ then. Believe me, I know someone who doesn’t do it then either. I promise. I nearly flipped when I heard that. I only believed it because I know them.
Said someone doesn’t brush their teeth on the way to the dentist either. Gross, unbelievable and I hope the only one.

I’m not ok with what a lot of people do. But the fact that people don’t take of their teeth is good for the Dentist’s business.
And when people don’t take care of the rest of their body is good for my business.

As a dentist I can say with absolute certainty that any competent dentist can tell when someone only ‘changes the oil’ right before ‘going to the mechanic’

Health, aren’t you a nurse or something? So it doesn’t really matter for your business, more I guess for the doctor you work under.

unrelated, what brew kit do you use for your homemade beer?
rabbi_dr- either all 3 dentists i’ve been through have been incompetent or thats not true. i used to not brush often at all, but very well the morning of, and ALWAYS got the comments of, wow looks like you take good care of your teeth. you brush daily or twice daily? and i see you must floss often too! and i’d nod and laugh evilly inside
Saysme- I’m leaning towards the former. Even if you somehow managed to get all the plaque and tartar off your teeth (which I doubt) your inflamed gums would be a dead giveaway.
actually, my gums rarely get inflamed ever.
rabbi_dr- my hygienist and dentist always tell me I’m doing a great job taking care of my teeth… I do brush, floss and mouthwash twice a day for two weeks preceding my appointment. The rest of the year… only when I’m in the mood. I do love milk and baby carrots though, so I usually don’t have any cavities or plaque. Munching on some baby carrots right now…
