I was wondering if there are any bigger plus size gown gemachs for mothers and sisters? If so, what are they and where? Looking for a gown but unfortunately it is very hard to find so if you could help out, it would be an amazing chesed!!! please!!!!!
Unfortunately that will be almost impossible for you to find. But you can buy custom online for under $200 and then resell for about $150.
I’m in the same situation. Will probably have to have a custom made dress made. You don’t say where you’re looking for the gemach – Tri-State area, EY, out-of-town, etc (nothing too specific that would reveal personal details of course).
Try department stores sometimes they have gowns in plus sizes
If you are in the States, some people have had luck with Lord & Taylor. Macy’s, or David’s bridal. Try finding a shell in a matching color if it is sleeveless or the neckline is too low. You can take a plain gown and embellish it yourself, if you are handy. Go to a trimming store and get a rhinestone belt or adding lace to the sleeves and hem will do wonders. Maybe go with a friend who has a good eye for these things helps. Or if you are not a sewer, maybe a tailor can help you fancy up the gown. Hatzlachah in your search.
