There was an article in the Mishpacha dealing with the terrible nisyonos of the internet. It was called “Is the Battle Lost?”. Click here to download the article http://www.guardureyes.com/GUE/PDFs/Is%20the%20Battle%20Lost.pdf

An excellent article – if anything, it is even more timely today. We cannot hide our hides in the sand and just pretend that this wide-spread problem does not exist.

use the internet JUST FOR YOUR NEEDS (like email or to purchase something etc…) & REMOVE YOUR WANTS & DESIRES from the internet. leave your desires for food & other yetzer haras but NOT for the worst of all…. internet…. & what can C”V come from it…. (millions off the derech…. millions of divorces & intermarriages etc… no need to continue)

start working on yourself today one step at a time.

step 1: limit yourself to a amount of time slot max to use your computer each day.

step 2: lower the time slot each month & you will see you will manage to take care of everything even though its less time then last month.

I have a question on your statistics,

Besides for the millions off the Derech,

Are there Millions of divorces and Millions of Intermarriages for a total of 4 million “divorces & intermarriages”

Or is it a million divorces and a million intermarriages that leads you to “millions of divorces & intermarriages” for a total of 2 million.

Or is it Millions of people getting divorced and then remarraying Goyim r”l.

    Thanks

Please tell us how there is a Yetzah Harah for “Food”

There is no Averiah to eat Kosher food

    You should learn ???? ?????. More specifically around ?? ?. Where the Gemara talks about ??? ???? ????? ??.

Also, in ?? ???, where we mention ????? ??????. Which is not only for non kosher.

Facebook tumah website has brought millionS of yidden to divorces & intermarriage R”L you don’t need me to tell you this & it gets worse every day. well guess what that on the internet

regarding taivos of kosher food. eating dinner out is one thing going to the restaurant to have a good kosher steak is going after your yetzer hara for things you desire…. so is it a tayva if you go on vacation every month versus once a year we all need a vacation were all humans.

BOTTOM LINE: use the web for your NEEDS not for EXTRAS eat to have strength to get you through the day & serve Hashem not to look for excuses to run after your lchaim & expensive food

    3) 2 million people who have gotten both divorced and then intermarried

    Thanks.

    Also

“use the web for your NEEDS not for EXTRAS”

Is spewing nonsense a “need” or a “want” of yours?

Hmm, Wolf never says gladly. Anyway it is clear that you too agree that there is a taavah and yetzer horah for food. To the extent that you would gladly be called a ??? so long you could imbibe.

“People were getting intermarried and divorced before there was an internet”

Yet all the experts say that the incidence has increased greatly. And, these statistics are readily available, it’s not only relating to Frum Jews.

It is like saying, people get lung cancer before even though they were never smokers and were not exposed to smoking, so don’t say there is anything wrong with smoking.

There actually probably are millions of intermarriages. There are more than 6 million Jews in the US, and the intermarriage rate is quite high. I don’t know the precise number, but I think it might be more than 1/3.

In terms of the rest, maybe he was calculating all of the future doros, r”l.

Nisht – +1 (for all your posts in this thread).

Additionally, the Biur Halacha at the beginning of Siman Alef, Seif Alef writes that “v’lo sasuru..” is one of the 6 Mitzvos tmidius, and he then explains the Mitzvah as follows:

    ??? ????? ???? ?????…????? ?????? ?? ???? …????? ???? ??? ?? ???? ???? ??? ???? ????? ???? ????? ??? ??? ????? ???? ????? ??? ???? ???? ??? ?????? ???? ????? ?????? ?????? ?????

In other words, if you eat to satisfy your own desires (and not to serve Hashem), it is considered “znus” and you are “oiver” on this Mitzvah.

There’s a general concept of trying to move away from gashmius and move towards ruchnius. Kosher food is not something that is inherently assur. But as we work to remove ourselves from the elements of this world, food is included in that category.

In addition saying there a taavah for food does not say it’s assur, it merely says that people have a desire to eat food, which we can clearly see is true day in and day out.

True, but his comment was in response to this:

ZD: “People were getting intermarried and divorced before there was an internet”

He wasn’t saying that it’s a proof that Internet is responsible for the increase; he was simply saying that ZD’s statement was not proof that it’s not.

For people who know the psychology of what issues regarding shmiras einayim does to a person, it certainly leads many, many people off the derech (by causing a lack of care of Judaism, among other things) and that leads to other things including intermarriage. Millions is an exaggeration certainly in terms of causing intermarriage and also in sending people off the derech, but the point is made. In terms of the secular world, all it takes is a quick google search to see the effects of the internet on marriages worldwide, I saw a statistic which I forgot the exact number, but Facebook is mentioned in (it was at least this) a third of all divorces. Yes, people got divorced beforehand, but this is now a major contributing factor, and I don’t believe that 200, 100, and even 50 years ago we had a divorce rate of 50%.

There are only 14 million Jews in the world so I am not sure how you can have millions of divorces And intermarriage is only a problem for Reform & Conservative Jews not the frum community.

We didnt have large divorce rates until about the 1960’s when no-fault divorce became legal. No-fault divorce was the biggest reason why divorces have increased

Intermarriage increased when it became not only socially acceptable for a NON JEW to marry a jew, in many cases its seen as even desirable among non jewish women to get a jewish husband.

Look at both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, both gave their blessings when their daughters married jewish men. That would not have happend 100 years ago, both daughters would have been disowned

Regarding intermarriage, he didn’t actually say that he was talking about Frum Jews. And intermarriage actually is a problem in the Orthodox community as well although in far, far fewer numbers. But to the extent that it does exist in the Orthodox community, I would imagine that internet may play a big role.

And regarding divorces, he didn’t say that he was only talking about Jews (when he said that internet caused millions of divorces).
