We fought the chanuka wars to avoid having to go to the Gymnasium, and now you davka want to go just for vanity.

Well, if you have read the news page here you will have seen:

    (Friday, December 2nd, 2011)

Strictly Orthodox Jews are being encouraged to take up kayaking, football and a range of fitness activities as part of a new scheme aimed at making the community healthier.

Charedi communities have set up sports groups and exercise sessions through the Maccabi GB Enable Project, which uses funding from Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

And the comment on it from thenagain which is hilarious…

They should create competitive sports tailored to the chareidi community. Some suggestions:

    2) Shachris Mill- Teams of 10 compete to see which can complete shachris in the shortest possible time. Words dropped constitute demerit.

Can anyone in the coffeeroom add to these?

Yeled v’yalda fitness center is fantastic. I used to go there and loved it. They have separate hours for men/women.

I’m looking for a non kosher gym (that’s why i’m here in the YWN coffee room).

And zahavasdad bittul torah doesn’t apply to me (cuz i’m not jewish, again, that’s why i’m here)

Ok, kidding aside, i’m looking for a kosher gym. Any ideas?

btw, make sure it has a good hechscher, (i don’t use Lubavitch and i don’t use Satmar) preferably OK or OU

I was thinking of Yeled v’yalda but i find their rates are unreasonable.

I didn’t find their price that bad. You can go as many times you want per month, every day.plus you have a delicious swimming pool!

    Try the Boro Park Y.

Any info on the Triangle Gym? Like if it still exists and if it does, how to reach them?

Does anyone know why Kosher Gym (or they called themselves Energize) was closed?

I came there one day only to see the building sealed with a note that the building has been seized.
