When I was in yeshiva, there was a certain alteh bochur I was friends with. Every year on purim, he would get up in the middle of maariv, open up the yeshiva’s sefer yeshaya, klop on the bima, and lein the haftara of parshas shemos.
When people would yell at him, he would just shush them and keep leining. Afterwards, he would explain that it is the haftarah for purim.January 12, 2015 6:53 am at 6:53 am #1118536
Some congregations lain Divrei Yirmiyahu for Shemos instead. They obviously feel it is too early for Purim. 53 days…December 27, 2015 2:59 am at 2:59 am #1118537

I’m not sure what language Yeshayahu Hanavi programmed in. It is pseudo-code.December 27, 2015 3:13 am at 3:13 am #1118541147Participant
It surely is never too soon for “Teka beShofor Godol leCheiruseinu” which is based on the famous Posuk of “veHoyo baYom haHu yiToka beShofor Godol” which as everyone knows is in this Haftoro of Shemos.December 27, 2015 4:15 pm at 4:15 pm #1118542popa_bar_abbaParticipant
Took me a few minutes to get this thread. The yeshiva guys don’t get it bec they don’t know navi. The seminary girls don’t get it because they don’t know purim. I didn’t get it bec I’m a moron, but then I got it.
We should add this to the index thread.December 27, 2015 10:38 pm at 10:38 pm #1118543December 27, 2015 10:52 pm at 10:52 pm #1118544☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant

That’s pretty bad considering you started it. Are you drunk?
