April 10, 2011 6:22 am at 6:22 am #757422smartcookieMemberBored in office- there’s a separate Issur to have Chometz in your home, even if you don’t eat it. Otherwise we wouldn’t go through all that work to clean. We would only refrain from eating bread for 8 days!
You should check all your toiletries, skin care, and cosmetics that they’re Chometz free.
April 10, 2011 8:21 am at 8:21 am #757423RABBAIMParticipantChometz ia assur in hanaah (pleasure) as well…….. not just eating. That is why beer base shampoo and certain alcohol in some deodorants is not permitted.
April 10, 2011 9:24 am at 9:24 am #757424My .02MemberAside from eating, there is an issur to derive any benefit from chametz, and as smartcookie wisely mentioned, even to own it is asssur.

April 10, 2011 1:28 pm at 1:28 pm #757427yentishParticipantcheck out crc online they have a very helpful pesach 2011 guide. http://www.crcweb.org/passover_2011.php
April 10, 2011 3:38 pm at 3:38 pm #757428happiestMemberI would check Tresseme carefully because I know that the shampoo usually isn’t good. It has wheat in it. I don’t know about the hairspray but I think it should be checked and not assumed that it’s good.
April 10, 2011 4:05 pm at 4:05 pm #757429yolkMemberbaby powder is kosher lepesach
April 10, 2011 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm #757430smartcookieMemberYolk- that’s a very general statement to give here. There might be some good companies, yet others may be Chometz. Everyone has to check whatever brand they own.
