i was going to put this in the excited about Lag B’Omer thread in response to bpt but thought maybe this should be a thread for those that dont know the Halachah
One may cut their hair this year on the Erev Shabbos preceeding L B’O, because L B’O is on sunday.
Is there any way to do so on Thursday night? Friday is a tight squeeze for me.
I just heard a shiur that thur night is also fine for ashkenazim. But sefardim have to wait till monday morning.
There is a shita I believe that allows it, but you have to ask a posek. The shaila is on miksas yom c’kulo, is that by night or the beginning of the day to my knowledge…
Not sure all the details, but I do know its a worthwhile question for a posek for example if one cannot do it friday for a valid reaon.

when you say thursday night, i’m guessing you mean after dark?
What about shaving on Motzoei Shabbos?
My brother told me that according to his Rebbi, one cannot shave on Thursday night. I’m trying to understand this though since Friday would be the same day…
