I’ve noticed that, for a while now, whenever the Gedolei Yisroel gather together, that HaRav Aaron Schechter and the Novominsker Rebbe shlita generally sit next to each other (in the center, surrounded by the other Gedolim shlita.) Is there any particular reason for this arrangement?
I know that the Novominsker Rebbe was a talmid of HaRav Yitzchok Hutner ztvk’l in Yeshiva Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin. But are these two Gedolim especially personally close to each other? Or is it, simply, that they are considered the senior Gedolim in Chutz La’Aretz today.

I think cause they are considered te heads of the Moetzs Gedolei Torah
The Noviminsker is deffinitly the head, Reb Aaron Im not sure exactly

The Novominsker Rebbe shlit”a is the Rosh Agudas Yisroel. He gives direction for the everyday shailos the Agudah has as far as what to do. But as far as the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah itself, all the members are equal and none are its head.
