My friend keeps going on and on about how his wife bakes chuffins for him, and how delicious they are.
And I want some!!
But my wife says she doesn’t know how to make chuffins, and anyway I’m probably gonna say the neighbor’s wife makes them better, so I should just go buy something from the machine in yeshiva.
Has anyone made them before? Would you make some for me please? Haleivi says it’s ok as long as you send it for shalach manos.

February 17, 2014 12:24 am at 12:24 am #1063052☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantChuffins:
Ingredients
1 cup water
2 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 quarts oil for frying
1/2 cup white sugar, or to taste
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Original recipe yields 4 servings
Directions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
Place dough balls in muffin tins to shape them.
Heat oil for frying in deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Pipe muffin shaped pieces of dough into hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.
Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained chuffins in cinnamon and sugar mixture.

I’m not asking for a recipe. If you aren’t going to make them for me, why tease?
February 17, 2014 2:34 am at 2:34 am #1063055☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantGoq, it’s a cross between churros (Mexican doughnuts) and muffins. Sort of like menurkeys without the religious overtones.
Popa, I’m just taking RebYidd’s advice.

February 18, 2014 2:36 am at 2:36 am #1063060–ParticipantWhy didn’t my lost post go through? I’m pretty sure it didn’t violate any of the CR rules.
I’m pretty sure it did. I’m pretty sure you know it did.

March 5, 2015 1:31 am at 1:31 am #1063062☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMy friend says he’s sending out special Purimdik’e pastries, unlike anything I’ve ever seen, for shalach manos. Thing is, he lives in Alaska, so I’m not going to get any. I’m really curious to know what they are, but he won’t tell me (thinks I’ll get jealous or something).
So can anyone here please tell me: what are chuffintashen?
