Do any Yeshivas have any programs that allow parents of the children attending the school to help out (repairs, substitute, etc..)? This can be both in lieu of tuition (instead of paying a plumber $100’s you can have one of the parents (who is licensed) to do it and decrease his tuition bill by that amount (or a little more). I know in a modern Jewish day school in Manhattan, they will not accept the child, even if the parents pay full tuition (which is over $20,000), unless the parents participate in the school as well. Perhaps Yeshiva’s can implement the same practice (it can be mutually beneficial (lower expenses for the yeshiva and lower tuition for the parents).

Of course, fundraising was something they would gladly help me with.. as long as I had my own list to call on

so they went along with it until it had no value to them. seems sensible. I would imagine most schools would allow parents to trade a service of value for tuition.

I know of another school who used a parent a s a plumber but then the Hanhalla got into a fight with the parent over money…

So she went over to a diff rich neighbor that sends their child to that school and pays full tuition and tog they approached the board of school and insisted that the neighbor give the teacher the tuition each month. The board agreed. So she gets paid for her teaching from a neighbor who pays her instead of giving the tuition to the school
