I have to be Moche here for the Kavod of R’ Chaim Kanievsky.
I got an e-mail from YWN “How to Almost GUARANTEE Yourself a Good Year” by entering the Hidabroot Raffle.
HaGaon R’ Chaim Kanievsky (according to the Hidabroot website) gives an absolute guarantee to all who enter that they will be saved from T’zar Gidul Bonim.
That would imply that those with children off the derech will come back instantly, based on the command of the Tzaddik.
I am shocked that YWN uses the word “almost” where HaGaon R’ Chaim did not I am being publicly Moche for the Kavod of the Tzaddik, that someone would change his words.
(I’m not sure if I really mean this or it is a joke. I still have to figure out whether I am laughing or crying).
ive become so disgusted with all these ad campaigns which stick a picture of rav kanievsky or rav elyashiv along with a misquote and imply that only through their organization can one achieve salvation…every time i see an ad like that especially from kupat ha’ir, i throw it away in disgust.

Old news that Tzedakos twist and exaggerate the words of Gedolim. Watch any interview with Rav Chaim. Even to his face they try to twist his words.
I think Hitdabroot is an amazing organization but they need to be careful from overhyping as some other Tzedakos have done which unfortunately led people to donate money they couldn’t afford to part with for a guaranteed yeshuah.
I would be afraid of no tzaar gidul banim – wouldn’t that imply that one wouldn’t have children? (- yes I know that’s not really the point of this thread but I had to get that out….)
yeah- i once saw on kikar shabbas a letter from Rav Chaim Kanievski saying he never guaranteed a shanah tova to whoever contributed to kupat… all he said that tzedaka is one of the things that is maavirin ro’ah hagzeira
Someone should put out a video of the whole process, from speaking with the Gadol to the final draft.

FTR, it’s not Yeshiva World’s lashon, I got this email ad from a bunch of different lists, all with the same wording. Maybe YW needs to hire mods for their ads 🙂
