Does anybody else have hot dogs on Shabbos Chol Hamo’ed?
I hope not.
For some people, maybe franks are the only meat they can afford. I’ve been in the position many times where a $4 pack of hot dogs were the only meat I could afford for chulent (franks in chulent are actually gevaldig).
Are you Talmud talking about Shabbos Shir haShirim? or about Shabbos Koheles?
Why is this even an issue? Is it ASSUR to eat hot dogs for some reason, Shabbos Chol Hamoed or not? If you enjoy hot dogs,go for it! And RebDoniel, I have been there, too, and franks make a perfectly wonderful cholent.
I hope not.
We, too, have thrown hot dogs into the chulent on occasion. I personally don’t like them all that much, but the kids love them.
If you want to posit that I am rasha for allowing this massive breach in kavod Shabbos, go right ahead.

No! Only Ossur during the 9 days days [minus Shabbos Chazon], and this year & next year, also on Shabbos Yom Kippur.

Why are you anti hot dogs? Were you bitten by a hot dog when you were little? Hot dogs are man’s best friend. Nothing wrong with hot dogs on Shabbos. Oneg is subjective.

Just out of curiosity then, why do you hope that people don’t eat them on Shabbos?

Well, for one thing, they’re very unhealthy.
Also, hot dogs are usually associated with very casual fare, which I don’t think is optimal for Shabbos (although it’s certainly not assur, and eating them on Shabbos certainly doesn’t make one a rasha).
As part of a cholent, agav (BTW), I don’t think it has that casual, “chol” connotation.
Anyhow, I think I’m allowed to hope that others share my sensitivities, while respecting them even if they don’t. (This was actually the point I’d hoped to bring out with my trollish comment).

on Shabbos Chol Hamo’ed Between last year 2015 & 2022, only having Shabbos Chol haMoed Pesach twice; 6 in 8 years with no Shabbos Chol haMoed Pesach, so this topic is not all too relevant during this 8 year time frame.
How can you say that? Every prat v’prat of Torah is always relevant and what more Toradik can there be to talk about than Hot Dogs on Shabbos Chol Hamoed Pesach. What is the problem anyway the dogs or the rolls?
