I love eating hot peppers- sometimes even half a jar in one sitting. Some people tell me that it is unhealthy and dangerous for the stomach. Is this true or made up??

i’ve heard that it could burn a hole in the lining of your stomach! at least the very hot ones!

xerox – keep it up. i just checked them out. seems like they’re high in antioxidants, prevent strokes and heart attacks and also prevent cancer from spreading! from what i read, there is no proof that hot peppers cause ulcers. enjoy!

yenta: I’ve heard that also, but is it true? What exactly does it do to the stomach?? what’s the science behind it???

asdf: Colored pepper rings in a jar- why does it make a difference?

I *heard* they actually speed up your metabolism but I have no idea.

I love eating them too! My favorite are the spicy picled ones from Israeli restaurants.

    #628311

Too much of anything is not good, try sour pickles…

I do not know about all hot peppers, Cayenne(or hot red pepper) is fantastic and quite tasty. Add Turmeric and Curry and you have Winter Indian choulent that may just keep the immune system in tact.

xerox: the lining in your stomach is to protect the sides of your stomach, by eating very hot peppers you are making a whole in it. either from the spiciness of it or maybe it as acids in it or something! sorry i don’t really know much info. on this topic! maybe just take it easy with the hot stuff though 😉

so im still in the middle of researching..so far i’ve seen/heard that it could be dangerous for your stomach lining for the previous reason i stated! some also say that its good for you and can reduce the chances of stroke and hearts attack. as well, some say that it actually strengthens your stomach lining! but im still looking up so ill let you know more soon!

85??? Do I sound that young? Not gonna reveal my age but I remember when the Dead Sea was very sick.

Kidding I’m pretty young actually but never quite got the hand of all the short-hand texting (mostly used by girls actually…)

actually my computer’s professor said that part of the curriculum really is to teach all those (even though he skipped it.) lol, gtg, brb and a zillion more. i kinda think it’s stupid. it’s really no big deal to write the words out normally.

Yeah brooklyn19 for typing on a PC. But for texting by mobile where it costs per text you wanna cut down as much as poss.

By the way, does anyone know what this says? (I know, just wondering whether you do…)

k, were getting a bit off topic-

    yenta- got any updates yet?

    ok some more facts:

eating them too often produces more stomach acid, too much stomach acid over a period of time will eat away at the lining of the esophagus and stomach as well as the intestines, causing an ulcer.

they also prevent strokes, heart attack and blood clotting (which i mentioned before)!

(causes bleeding(ulcers), reduces blood clotting ..that makes sense right?)

let me know if you want any more info and ill try to get more!

again..having them once in a while is probably okay..just dont have too many, too often!
