Yup….just a bunch of “tourists” that were “invited in” to the capital by those police. All Pelosi’s fault for not having a sufficient number of “tour guides” available

Watch the video and you will see her trying to force her way into the Speaker’s Lobby just off the House chamber. Sorry, but find some other dumb Trump rant to post. The capital police showed amazing restraint in trying to protect the members of Congress against these animals and I’m surprised there weren’t more casualties.

Hey Jackk & GH, – Where are all the Commissions on all the Riots during 2020 – 21?
Oh I know – all those Riots and Deaths on Innocent People & Cops, will make the DemonCrats look Bad.
So they only focused on January 6 – to make the Right look Bad.
But anybody with any Brains knows which Party is the Party of Law & Order!

Babbitts killing was recorded by multiple people.
She was shot by a officer while she was breaking down the door/window into the Senate chambers.

Ashli Babbit died by gunshot would suffered while trying to break into a restricted area of the Capital believing that she was following orders from Donald Trump. According to the DOJ and my understanding of halacha the shooting was justified. She was a misguided criminal and I blame the man who called her to DC and ordered the march to the Capital.

“How did Ashley Babbit die and why did she have to die?”

Obviously we can’t expect the Democrats to care about her, she was just an evil white insurrectionist who almost destroyed the country by trespassing

The real question is; where are the Republicans on this? Why aren’t they demanding an investigation?

Trump is using the tragic death of Babbit to advance his own agenda just like he will throw his “loyal friends”, supporters and even his kids and grandkids under the proverbial bus if it will make him look better to his “base”. Throwing those close to you under the bus is not unknown in the political world. However backing up and running them over several additional times is uniquely Trumpian.

Made Aliyah: You say the real question is; where are the Republicans on this? Why aren’t they demanding an investigation?
Well, two reasons. First, there was an investigation by career DOJ lawyers and prosecutors and they concluded the shooting was justified. But of course, you don’t believe the investigation results done by a “deep state” bunch of lawyers in your twisted conspiratorial mind so second, most Republicans are totally clueless as to which rabbit trail Trump wants them to follow on any given day. If your screaming about Hunter Biden’s laptop or millions of Martians directed by George Soros voting in swing states, its hard to also scream Gevalt about the tragic fate of some mentally disturbed woman dressed up as a soldier, who broke into the Capital and is attacking police.

And George Floyd was resisting arrest (and all the other criminals too) for a crime he (they) committed, yet because one of it was at “the capitol” and one is at a mom and pop shop that’s why it’s different?

Republicans should also demand an investigation into how the 9/11 terrorists died.

Hodges, a Metropolitan Police officer who was among scores wounded by pro-Trump insurrectionists at the Capitol, acknowledged that defenders of the rioters and allies of the former president might object to the term “terrorists.” But the label was accurate, Hodges told select committee members as he read aloud the definition of domestic terrorism from federal law.

“I can see why someone would take issue with the title of terrorist. It’s gained a lot of notoriety in our vocabulary in the past few decades, and we’d like to believe that no, that couldn’t happen here. No domestic terrorism. No homegrown threats,” Hodges said.

“But I came prepared,” he continued, reading an excerpt of U.S. statute- U.S. Code Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 113B, Section 2331 – that defines “domestic terrorism” as “activities that involve acts dangerous to human life” that violate criminal law and “appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion.” The Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 aimed to disrupt the congressional certification of Donald Trump’s Electoral College loss to President Joe Biden.

this whole thing makes me sick. None of you have changed your script, still reading the pre printed pamphlets and teleprompters. There is absolutely no possibility of finding “truth” when ears are still clogged. Is there EVER going to be a time when there can be a rational discussion about the atrocoties of the day with the ability to sort thru the facts on BOTH sides of what went wrong on BOTH sides without the spewing of party line garbage???

    Really now.

I was in tears over the testimonies of pain and anguish, but AT THE SAME TIME, without diminishing my objectivity toward their trauma, I was also shocked at how they were asked to present so much politics, political opinion etc in their testimonies. How low can these senators go? They NEVER would have testified in the way they did (regarding the embellishments, not the facts) if this were a REAL hearing aimed at actually finding out what REALLY went down.

When will there be a time when people can GROW UP and STEP BACK from their crazy color war and do things with objectivity and integrity without bias and hatred and HYPOCRACY and all this divisive STUPIDITY!!!!!

add on for those too blind to read/hear – – – I am talking about the “hearings”, NOT the riot.

Perhaps, when Trump testifies before the committee under oath he will be asked if he feels any responsibility for the death of Ms Babbit who entered the Capital at the behest of President Trump as did the 500 plus arrested criminals. He called them to DC, asked them to march on the Capital and others speaking to the crowd asked them to fight. He of course after saying he would march with them chickened out and spent the afternoon viewing the insurrection on TV.
Trump’s testimony along with that of Hawley, Boebert, Greene, Cruz, Guiliani and Don Jr will be interesting and may surpass the number who watched the Watergate hearings.

This is the stance of the Republican party.
We will not participate in a bi-partisan investigation into a terrorist insurrection on the US Capitol until we also investigate the BLM riots .
If there were no BLM riots , they would refuse to participate for another dozen reasons.
    1) Hunter Biden
    2) Clintons emails
    3) Benghazi
    4) Pelosi
    5) …

They know that they participated in the insurrection and Republican members will be subpoenaed (hopefully Trump also) to testify so they are doing everything to ensure that the committee does not get the full truth.

    Syag,

The possibility of what you are asking for flew out the window when the original bill forming the commission ( which passed the House of Representatives on May 19, with all Democrats and 35 Republicans voting in support of it), was blocked by Senate Republicans on May 28, with 54 Senators voting in favor and 35 voting against, failing to clear the 60 votes needed to break a filibuster.

It was buried completely when House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy chose Jim Jordan and Jim Banks to be members of the committee when they both are perpe-“traitors” of the day that the committee is investigating.

The Republicans do not want an honest investigation.

I hope you live into the 23rd century but Klal Yisroel will have more important concerns at that time.

Trump will never appear to answer questions under oath. He will have some “health issue” (acute bonespuritis) which his lawyer will argue precludes his appearance before a Congressional investigating Committee. He might send “Little Donald” to testify on his behalf, or more likely, Eric since he is considered the talmid chacham of the family.

jackk – i do appreciate you responding.
I don’t think any of what you said had anything to do with my point except to support it. So thanks for that. But I will continue to be frustrated at the way people (otherwise intelligent rational people) who are still suffering from TDS I guess, cannot have a conversation about anything around this without going nuts, doing their best to list every possible offense and every single nasty derogatory name they can come up with that will make it thru the mods. I may not know politics but I do know people. That is not called a conversation. that is what people do when they are triggered. Feel free to commence with a defense of said response but my word stands. People are NOT ready to listen or hear ANYTHING outside of their script. And by definition that excludes you from seeking, accepting or contemplating truth.
I will wait. And by waiting I don’t mean Im look forward to a day when it can be discussed, I just mean I will daven that these days end.

Regarding your comment about klal yisroel having more important concerns in the 23rd century. Interesting. So you think right now we don’t? I find that hard to process.

    >Trump is using the tragic death of Babbit to advance his own agenda<

The Dems used the tragic death of Sicknick to advance their own agenda (until we found out the cause of his death and then naively waited in vain for the Dems to apologize for their shameful lie)

    >Well, two reasons. First, there was an investigation by career DOJ lawyers and prosecutors and they concluded the shooting was justified. But of course, you don’t believe the investigation results done by a “deep state” bunch of lawyers in your twisted conspiratorial mind<

Please please don’t call me a “twisted conspiratorial mind”! Of course I believe that all investigation results of the DOJ are sacred, divine and true! In fact that’s why I believe the DOJ should be investigating the Jan. 6 trespassing and not congress.

    > so second, most Republicans are totally clueless as to which rabbit trail Trump wants them to follow on any given day.<

Not even on Jan. 6? Then they must have been acting on their own accord.

    > If your screaming about Hunter Biden’s laptop or millions of Martians directed by George Soros voting in swing states, its hard to also scream Gevalt about the tragic fate of some mentally disturbed woman dressed up as a soldier, who broke into the Capital and is attacking police.<

If you’re screaming about me screaming about topics I never mentioned and are off topic, isn’t hard to scream about an event that happened 6 months ago?

    >Trump will never appear to answer questions under oath. He will have some “health issue” (acute bonespuritis) which his lawyer will argue precludes his appearance before a Congressional investigating Committee. As usual, most of the events that get Dems infuriated happen in their own imagination.

This commission is a far cry from being impartial. Pelosi rejected Jordan and Banks but included Adam Schiff, a hyper political politician who repeatedly lied about having ( but never presented) damning evidence about Trump? She included 2 anti Trump Republicans. In many respects, this is simply Pelosi’s third attempt at impeaching Trump.

TDS exists as long as there is an orange colored blob publicly declaring his mindless, self-adulatory conspiracy theories which sadly resonate with a hard core base of about 30-35 percent of the electorate. Most of us clinically certified as suffering from TDS have equal contempt for the far left wing of the Dems and those who have implicitly supported their extreme positions in the name of racial equity, diversity, equality or some moral sense of guilt. However, just like there are certain events in the history of most nations that stand out as unique and quasi-existential, the January 6th attacks on the Capital and the electoral college will be shown to have a unique long term significance in American history. The Republicans who live in mortal fear of political reprisals from the Orange Blob will be remembered for their feckless lack of political backbone and courage. At least the AOCs have been consistently irresponsible.

What was the sin of Banks and Jordan? They wanted to ask questions as to why pleas of the Capitol police for more help was ignored ( by Pelosi ). Pelosi only wants committee members who think like her, which will result in a lack of any belief in the accuracy of its findings. Recent polls have shown that the % public having confidence in the committee is dropping
To GH and jackk- had the unarmed protestor shot dead by the police been BLM , would the two of you still be so quick to exonerate the cop?

If the Committee was smart, I’m hoping Cheney and other members demand the testimony of Pelosi, the former Chief of the Capital Police, the former Sargents at Arms of the House and Senate and the Mayor of DC regarding their alleged opposition to having the national guard mobilized in riot gear in the days leading up to January 6th and the other legitimate questions raised by both Dems and Republicans. Otherwise, their report will lack any credibility.

If Republicans believe that despite all the evidence contrary that Pelosi was responsible for the January 6th violence, and that they can prove it, then why did they reject the bipartisan commission to investigate it ?

    Anonymous,
Banks and Jordan are two vocal Trump supporters who voted to challenge certification of President Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory on the day of the attack on the Capitol
They were part of the insurrection. They were completely supportive of the aims of the violent mob.

Jordan was on the phone and in contact with Trump as the mob was violently attacking.
Jim Banks statements after he was chosen showed that he planned to sabotage the commission.

What does BLM have to do with a cop holding his gun at you, telling you not to break in to the senate and you ignoring it ?

Jackk this preconceived narrative that if it was BLM rioting they would have been massacred is absolutely ridiculous. Have you been paying attention at all the past year? Riots in every democrat-run city? Thousands of officers injured, many killed? Yet how many “massacres”? Police officers in general are scared stiff to do anything that might be later deemed as “excessive force”, and therefor racist…
I honestly am disappointed Republicans didn’t agree to a bi-partisan committee. But given how Democrats went after trump, with the impeachment, with taken-out-of context video, showing and exposing their true tds-driven intentions; I can see where R’s are coming from.
Without digging deeper, what happened is obvious. Trump and his supporters weren’t happy with the fraud-filled-election. Fraud that is no longer a “conspiracy theory”. Fraud that is real and has been shown, and revealed the last few weeks. Trump and some R’s gave speeches at rallies, calling for supporters to go to the capitol and “peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard”. Many on the far-right, many of which are likely white-supremacists took the opportunity and hijacked the event. It is beyond me that many think that trump should be held responsible, even more so when Democrats have given far more inflammatory speeches that actually incite violence.
