How in the world didnt loads of people in Pakistan know where Bin Laden was?
“It is very common in Pakistan and India for well-to-do people to have their own private dialysis,” Provenzano said. “They just buy the machine and hire a technician.”
Despite having a machine and a technician, Osama was living in the middle of a big city and needed all kinds of medical attention and no one in Pakistan knew who they were treating???
I agree that some had to know, but they were likely either highly paid or ideologues. If regular citizens knew, wouldn’t someone have been tempted by the reward money? (Who knows, maybe someone did tip off the U.S….)
As an Israeli official said, it is embarrassing for the Pakistanis that they did not know. It doesn’t have to be anything other than that. At meetings, they don’t discuss their neighborhood, they evaluate collected data. Perhaps some individuals wondered to themselves what that weird complex is about, and put it out of his mind. We also know that their government, at all levels, is infiltrated by millitants. These people could have derailed any attempt to research that building.
One thing I must have missed cos I didnt hear anyone discussing it is if the Pakistanis were only told about the raid by Obama once the helicopters had left Pakistani airspace, then when the Pakistanis discovered and scrambled military jets to intercept the helicopters, how come their jets did not engage and fire on the helicopters? Anybody?
