How long do you have to be in the CR until you’re taken seriously?
Who wants to be taken seriously?
14 years.
Probably as long as one’s screen name. If name digs deep into the comments area (as some other newcomers are wont to do), it may take even longer.
But seriously (what?!?), I’m around here quite a while, nobody takes me seriously. I’m seriously not serious.
It isn’t as much your age as it is the frequency of your posts, and the amount of knowledge you display.
Getting EDITED speeds the process
Just behave and follow the simple rules: Use your brain when commenting, and drink your coffee. Oh, and humor is always welcome.

I’m the most serious guy in the CR.
To really be part of the “in” crowd around here, you must be generous and supply us with donuts and very good coffee at least once a month. After a few months, you may be voted in on a permanent basis. At least that’s how it was for me.

How seriously is “seriously”? Depends on how you’re trying to represent yourself. If I tried to spout gemara I would be LOLed off the board, but I am almost as competent at grammar and spelling as haifagirl, and about now I should be an expert on being a BT.
wanderingchana: There’s nothing wrong with trying your hands out on Gemara. There’s a thread started some time ago “Shor Shenogach For Women Only”

If you really HAVE TO know, often when hear someone say that, I turn around! (Now please don’t start calling ‘zeeskite’ in the street to see who turns around)
The way it works is that people judge you based on your words. Better posters naturally rise to the top. No secrets, no tricks. Work on it (intelligence, emotional intelligence, think before posting, etc) and you will gradually wise to the top. Hatzlacha!

I think Posts that are NOT SO LONG but medium are good posts cuz sometimes theyre too long and I have ZEROO patience 2 read em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
