    does the measurement go along the side to the bottom (i.e from top of shoulder to bottom hem)? Or perhaps it may need to begin from the lowest open point- meaning if the neck is a V-neck it would start from the bottom of the V down to the bottom hem.

    i recently purchased a v-neck cotton pair that hit just around or below the belt-line.

    I think it’s supposed to be long enough to cover 3/4 of the body of an average nine year old boy. I don’t know why, but that’s the measure.

    It’s in the Mishnah B’rurah. I think it’s a Machlokes Achronim whether it’s 1X1 Amah or 1X1/2 Amos. The hole doesn’t count.
