How do you get a permit in Monsey?
What kind of permit?
Driving, sign, building… There are lots of permits that one can want. More details, please.
LG – Oh I didn’t think of anything except driving! Does anyone else do that? When something has multiple meanings, automatically assume it means a certain thing (usually something important to them)? Like for e.g. I asked for something at the office in our school, and the secretary said, “Sure, we’ll cut and paste it for you.” I was really confused since I had given her a hard copy, and I didn’t have it on the computer……turns out she meant “cut and paste” as in, with scissors and glue…

You’re right, that guy was probably referring to a driving permit. I just wanted to sound smart and educated, lol. 😉
$50 and three Rabbis saying “mutar lach” permits about anything.
first study the drivers manual which you can get in the library (you just really have to read it once and know the alcohol part, its not a hard test)
then bring one form of identification that proves your date of birth (e.g. birth certificate, passport) ,social security card, and other ids that add up to 4 point with your ss card(see dmv website for points) to a dmv(there’s one on route 202 in haverstraw).
at the dmv fill out a form, take an eye test, pass a written test on the drivers manual, and pay a 90 dollar fee, and you have your permit!

i just got my permit 4 monthes ago
