How do you know that all of your community did nothing?

And if so, why announce that to e/o?

I tried to do some things that we don’t usually do, like we sang zemiros. Haven’t done it in a while. It was a nice enhancer. The project’s site has nice stories that are inspiring to read. May we use our good inspiration to keep growing

If you’re not interested in it then don’t be surprised when your children aren’t interested in Shabbos.

I tried to do some things that we don’t usually do namely, that I spent Shabbos in Yerusholayim, to spite the Hamas who tried to scare us away from Israel this past summer.

Ari-f, that seems a little harsh.

Children are self-centered creatures. Having guests at the Shabbos table is nice as far as being mechanech them to do Hachnasas Orchim. But a lot of kids will enjoy Shabbos if they have their parents’ undivided attention at the table. They’ll enjoy talking and eating and singing and spending time together during Seudos Shabbos. Yes, even if that includes a little bickering with their sibs. I don’t know if sm29 has kids. But I’ll bet if he does, they enjoyed the Shabbos project without any unfamiliar guests.

yes I realize it was too harsh. Just as you don’t want to turn people off from Shabbos by being harsh about it, I also shouldn’t turn people off from doing kiruv and hachnosas orchim by being harsh about it, making them feel guilty, etc. Torah should be made pleasant to all Jews and not just newbies.

The election doesn’t count. I’m permanently the representative of both. And I know what you are. You’re the representative of Norway.

Why says I don’t know Yiddish? And I’m a representative of everyone in Boro Park. You are the representative of Norway who sits in at our meetings to make sure our decisions do not affect Norway. (By the way, why did Norway send you? No other country has a representative who comes to make sure we don’t affect them.)
