Here in America, there was a huge outpouring (and rightfully so) in response to the Kletzki (A”H) murder. There were meetings, drashos, machsom groups, ect all in an attempt to generate an awareness of what a terrible loss we as a nation just suffered, and take steps to be sure the tragedy does not happen again.
However, the stabbing of R’ Abuchatzeira seems to have gotten very little mention and very little attention here in America.
Was there a huge surge in Eretz Yisroel that was just not picked up here? If so, I’d like to hear about it. R’ Abuchatzeira deserves no less.

August 8, 2011 9:20 pm at 9:20 pm #796388bptParticipantStill clueless, but lets move on (unless someone wants to direct my attention to what the type-o was.. I can take it, really)
OTOH, my timing may not have been right, as the EY crowd is in middle of Tisha B’Av, and may not be checking the CR for a day to two.
August 8, 2011 9:21 pm at 9:21 pm #796389mustangriderMemberbpt, i was wondering the same thing….

August 10, 2011 9:13 pm at 9:13 pm #796392bptParticipantOK, so now that its post-Tisha b’Av in EY, I’d like to revive this thread.
Can any of our EY members fill me in on the way the stabbing was dealt with, from a Kinos / Speeches / Machsom / that sort of thing perspective?
Unless otherwise stated, I’m inclined to say that the reaction was muted. At least that’s the attention it got here in the USA (when reading the local papers on the reporting from EY doings).
So? Can anyone tell me if there was as massive an outpouring for the loss of R’ Abuchatzeira as there was for Leiby Kletzki?
PLease note: I’m not trying to suggest that the Kletzki reaction was unwaranted. But I think R’ Abuchatzeira deserved at least that much, if not more.
Anyone have any info?
