I was driving down the block and stopped at a 4 way light. It is a very busy intersection and as I was waiting at the light I looked down for a minute and heard a HUGE bang. I looked up and saw a car flipping over. I cannot imagine that anyone would make it out alive but I don’t think that anyone died either because cars do tip and ppl make it out alive.

wow, that sight is certainly something that can shake one up, but go take care of yourself, go relax for a few minutes, doing whatever you like to do.

adorable, are you ok? are you home alone? Maybe you shouldn’t be alone right now. What you saw is very traumatic and when you witness something like that it usually it is better to be around other people and not try to digest it alone. The whole thing can feel very surreal and being around people helps to ground you and allows you to talk it out of your system.

    #757106

Wow. It must be quite frightening and unnerving.

    I

    Thank Hashem

aries- I was on the way back to work after an appointment and had to come straight here…. I am alone in the office now and dont think I can get any work done! Thank goodness its almost the end of the day! I wish i wold have stayed a little longer and watched them get the guy out but I had to run…. Very scary to watch but I think I have to learn to drive more carefully! I am definitely going to be working on that now!

Adorable, of course something like that will make you more cautious and it is always a good thing to be cautious and not to take anything for granted. There are some crazy drivers out there and sometimes accidents happen to good drivers because of animals that run across the road, or things that fall off of moving vehicles and sometimes because of glare. It must have been really unnerving being alone int he office when you really need to feel another human presence and probably could have used a hug. Human touch is very comforting and can be very soothing and helpful to calm down especially when you have the shakes after a trauma.

WE need to assume that the driver was wearing seat-belts and therefore there was a good outcome. We have heard of such outcomes in the past and seat belts saving lives, so please assume that it was the case in this instance and that even though there could have been some broken bones and bruising, or they could have walked out without a scratch, that the seat belts and air bags did their job and it was just a huge scare for everyone.

I’m thinking……. maybe there should be an age requirement for the CR.

    #757120

I was there too (after the fact) and was so shaken up. I kept checking news websites because I was hoping to hear that everyone is okay. I really hope they are! Just a reminder not to take anything or anyone for granted because Hashem can turn things over from one minute to the next.

Thank you everyone out there for your support! I came home and went to bed but I am still shaking when I think about it! I have seen accidents happen close up before but here I watched the car tip and I saw everyone just standing there for about 5 minutes not sure what to do while there might have been someone under there dying! I think everyone was shaking and not sure what the right thing is to do.

LuvMe- yes that is where the accident happened! Do you have any details?

I guess consider yourself lucky that it still affects you. I’ve been numb since childhood. No, it’s not my career choice or too much TV, just when I was a kid I was exposed to -too much stuff in the street, like a neighbor (goy) chasing his girlfriend around the car pumping bullets into her.

Health, that’s a real tough one. I can see you are very intelligent, so I’m sure you know that you need to make sure that the experience doesn’t turn into PTSD. Numbness is a great coping skill for a kid at the time of such extreme violence that unfortunately you had to witness, but it doesn’t serve people well as adults. One cannot feel much pleasure either when numb. Just as it’s not unusual for people who have neuropathy in their extremities to have the numbed area pierced w/ needles, etc., by doctors during testing…so too the numb person will unconsciously stick “needles” in situations to cause hurt so he/she could feel…

I had an experience as a young kid where I saw 2 neighbors in front of my house in such a fight over a parking spot (I use the word “adults” loosely)that one of them died on the spot (no pun intended). I remember how that was so difficult to see, but yours is way more violent.

    We feel for you.

I just saw Adorable’s post now. Are you doing better today? It is really scary to witness an accident, but B”H it is over, and you are OK. I hope the driver and/or passengers are likewise OK.
