    At a store.

They had boneless rib steak for 6.99

They had first cut brisket for 5.79

How could it be so cheap?

    You think that’s cheap?

I am assuming these are per pound prices.

It is very cheap for kosher meat.

You have exactly 1/2 year as of yesterday to consume this meat prior to the onset of the 9 days.

Popa_bar_abba: That is extremely cheap, so be a good person and tell us where you bought it so that others can have the bit of mazel to get cheaper meat!

    Thank you.

Their kashrus is reliable. I never heard anything bad about it.

Yes, of course their kashrus is reliable. I was kidding around in my first post. That is why I originally didn’t post the name of the store, so that people wouldn’t think I was serious. But then someone asked.

ive purchased meat at seasons and been very happy with the quality.

its about time that there are some stores with reasonable prices for kosher meat.

    #920652

unless someone helped you pay for it…

Creepy, I was there today too. :-). And yes seasons usually had very cheap meat sales on Sundays and Mondays.

It’s Affordable Glatt, with OU hashgacha. It’s cheaper than Tevya’s Ranch. I’ve bought some of their meat and there was more waste on it than on other brands. Anybody know what country it comes from?

    OU kashrus is not reliable?

    Just noticing the irony.

Tevya’s Ranch? Why would you want to buy henpecked meat? It would ruin my appetite to see the beak marks.

irony? that’s not what I would call it.

Squeak, I’ve never had TR, I just know it’s cheaper than others. What do you mean “henpecked”?

Are you making a reference to Fiddler on the Roof?

TR meat is good. We have it in our local store, and I have not bought a bad cut yet.

I just ate it last night. I ate a rib steak because it cost like 2.50 each, and I ate a burger because I was dividing up the meat and freezing it and there was a lone burger that didn’t fit into any of the packages.

Both were excellent. Juicy and tender. With salt and pepper. And I put guacamole on my burger.

I should get over there for those prices and stock up.

Even if I get 3 club steaks in a package for $8, that is worth it, as you’d pay at least $15 for each piece in a restaurant.

I bought TR brick roast from Moishas this past Thurs for 5.79 lb and was wondering also why it was so cheap.

It was soft and fresh,so no complaints about quality.

I saw the 3 steaks in a package from TR at Moisha’s for like $7 last week and they were very good; tender and nicely flavored. Granted, I braised them in sauce with red wine and ate them with papardelle and parve parmesan cheese, but still, the meat was top notch.

rd: You seem like you really know your cooking. Here I just salted and peppered, and seared on a cast iron grill pan until about 130.

You need to post us some recipes. But pick easy ones, that we’ll be able to do.
