You’ve addressed everyone’s location guess (which you solicited) — except MiddlePath’s guess.

    Not israel.

I didn’t address middlepaths guess, because it covers too large an area, and after 5 guesses I’d have to decide if I feel like telling you.

Fair enough, popa.. Is it a state that touches one of the Great Lakes? (That narrows it down a little.)

    Not chicago.

8 states touch the great lakes.

MN, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH, PA, NY.

    So not telling

I don’t know if this counts but I would guess a place that wouldn’t make it into the top 10 most popular guesses.

More importantly, did you take your car with you and how open minded are the people in this place?

    State. And city.

How exactly would you move states without moving to a different city?

PBA – Mazel Tov on your move. You and your family should only enjoy good health and happiness in your new home. I noticed a moving van unloading down the street from me on Thursday. Welcome to the neighborhood – you will love living in Canada. I shall be over with bread, salt and a cake later on today.

I took my car with me. Some of the people are open minded, and some are closed minded.

I sometimes have a different opinion of who is open minded. Sometimes, people who agree with me are closed minded, and just happen to agree. Sometimes, people who disagree are open minded, and just happen to disagree. Sometimes, I am closed minded.

I’m glad you figured it out MG! Just make sure the bread is Pas Yisroel, I think PBA is stringent about that.

    Hmmm. Bread, salt, and cake.

I’ve never heard of that before.

PBA, around here it is customary to bring bread and salt to Yidden moving into a new home. I always take a cake to a new neighbour, (note Canadian spelling – you shall need to learn that)

regardless of their religion. Have you really never heard of taking bread and salt?

    Guilty as charged.

But come to think of it, I don’t think we have any salt, and we could probably use it.

bread, that your home sghould always be filled with plenty, and salt for your life to always have flavor. Cake, just because what’s the point of life without cake? 😉

No, not in canada. Although, I think I’d like to be neighbors with Minyan Gal.

PBA, thanks for the compliment. I could use a nice, Jewish neighbour (Canadian spelling), as I don’t have any. One of neighbours asked if my mezzuzah was part of my alarm system. Also, I do bake very good cakes.

I once lived in Canada. For three years. In Ottowa.

(I should note that neither Minyan Gal nor Mikehall brought bread and salt that time.)

popa, I would have brought you the appropriate offerings, but I have never been to Ottawa myself. I suppose that I should be embarassed at having never been to my nation’s capital, but I have never had a reason or opportunity. Go west young man.

    #797755

I think Popa’s just pulling our leg and claims he permanently moved to Cyberspace (Less taxes and you meet lots of people along the way). Even his recycle bin is digital now, so he’ll have free time on his hands…..

I just realized that PBA opened this thread Motzei Shabbos! We all know the implications of what that means…

    #797757

I saw a few moving vans as well. I like the bread and salt minhag… so if you moved to Baltimore, I’ll gladly bring you salt and bread.

It’s spelled “Ottawa”, not “Ottowa”. When did you live there? Do I know you? Did you go to OTI back in the day?

pba, have you found a good minyan to daven with in Nome? And if you think that it can get cold in Canada, just wait until your first far northern winter.

But only 5 of them touch one of the Great Lakes, the rest of them touch multiple lakes.
