    Lately I’ve been going to sleep a lot earlier than i used to, i used to go to bed about 1 or 130 each night and now i find myself nodding off at 1030 is there anything i can do to stay awake longer?

    My diet has changed i used to eat a lot of snacks late at night and I’ve cut that out is that a factor? other than caffeine what can i do to stay up later?

    i dont think there is anything wrong with going to bed that early. I have been able to start going to bed at 11 pm and actually fall asleep.

    Your body is sending you a message. You need the sleep. So sleep, gezunter heit. Just as an aside, I would have a checkup and make sure there is no underlying situation goin on.

    The Goq,s question was “is there anything i can do to stay awake longer?” now I don’t have any advice for you TG but to the other commentors, she doesnt seemm to ask about the messages her body is sending her…she wants to find out about ways that will make her stay awake longer!

    I do think a late night snack could give you a boost to stay up but i cant imagine that cutting them out made you now sleepy earlier. What will work is exercise. Even a brisk walk around the block should help. Just remember not to exercise within 3 or 4 hrs of bedtime.

    I also have a sleep problem. I get home from work so exhausted and I still have tests to study for. How do I manage it all?

    Thanks for all the helpful suggestions sorry for not responding earlier but i lost my power for about 5 hours. YW fan i am a male but no worries i wasnt offended 🙂

    More coffee. Try to skip the sugar at night if you want to stay up later.

    Rambam says we need 8 hours a sleep; other poskim say about the same, I believe. Getting too little sleep reduces your brainpower, lowers your mood, makes you irritable, suppresses your immune system, and makes you a more dangerous driver.

    If you’re getting enough sleep and you still want to stay up later, then taking a shower or getting a little exercise (a few sit ups, push ups, or jumping jacks for example) are two things that help. I would never drink caffeine or exercise at night because I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep even hours later, but everybody’s different.

    Had two bottles of diet coke with dinner and im still going strong at 11pm ill report back tomorrow to tell you how i slept.

    I used to stay up ’til around 2am; now I’m tired by 9:30pm.

    I went for blood work :-O

    i would reccomend taking omega 3 from fish oil. that has given me extra energy.

    All is well thanks that was a short lived vacation and i wish you would do more than lurk i always loved your sage motherly advice and people should remember that you are the originator of the cocoa room idea!!

    Goq~ the last few times I popped in, it seemed like this *had* turned into the cocoa room! :/
