Is CTL really Joseph in disguise? Based on the way he’s being smacked down, deservedly so, I might add, one can’t be blamed for making that assumption. CTL, not to beat a dead horse, I think you stepped into a big pile over here. Just like all of the other over the top, Trump hating liberals, who compare our duly elected President to he, who doesn’t deserve mention, you showed your true colors with this one. And BTW, kudos to you for your youngest CTL. That is the only reason you are getting this criticism .

    Katanhatorah and CTLIBERAL,,
I see that you have not been able to find treatment for Trump Derangement Syndrome. Let me point out a few facts:
    A. President Obama was responsible for an average
of 475,000 deportations during his presidency.
    B. President Trump is averaging 250,000
    C. Under Obama, the annual number of
illegal immigrants who died while crossing
    the border ranged from 252-471
    D. Under Trump the numbers are 298 (2017)
    and 283 ( 2018 )
    E. Every time the media tries to vilify Trump for
separating kids , they invariably show
pictures taken while Obama was in office.
    F. Since January the Democrats refused to
pass a humanitarian aid bill by first denying
there was a crisis, then calling it a
    manufactured crisis and finally, blamed
    Trump for their current condition.

So, did you two ever compare Obama to Hitler?
Call him Herr Obama? I doubt it.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. hitler wasn’t shy of his anti semitism. Do you really think Trump secretly hates Jews and is planning to strip them of their citizenship? Stupidest paragraph I’ve read on here. You sound like a grumpy democratic trying to convince republicans not to vote for trump, and this is your only ammunition 😂. Really pathetic.

People here are suggesting that American citizens be ‘deported’ for having opposing political views. How do you propose to legally facilitate this? I’m sincerely curious.

That best part of all of this, aside from giving liberals well deserved smack-downs, is that it’s exactly these kind of posts that got Trump elected the first time.

Don’t change, Democrats. Keep pulling the race card at every corner, keep making Holocaust analogies, keep losing…

More and more of the Republican members of Congress are finally lining up to call out the Trumpkopf’s comments as racist and offensive (except for those too frightened that they will be the focus of the next Tweet).

Remind me again of how many Democrats, either in Congress or running for President, stepped forward to
    A. Condemn the squad for their numerous
    antisemitic tweets
    B. Condemn Sen Booker for saying he had no
    problem meeting with Farrakhan
    C. Condemn ongoing Hamas rocket attacks
    D. Condemn AOC ( and her Chief of Staff ) for
    Implying that moderate Democrats and
    speaker Pelosi are racists?

There was nothing racist about Trump’s tweet. It was stupid and ignorant, yes, just like his reference to the revolutionaries taking over the airports, but he did not mention race at all. Anyone who calls it racist is merely projecting their own racism on him.

And it was not stupid to tell these women that if they don’t like America they should go somewhere else. The only stupid thing was that he told them all to go back where they came from, not realizing that only one was an immigrant. The most reasonable explanation is that he simply forgot he was addressing four individuals, and those words were directed only to Omar, who should indeed go back to Somalia rather than trying to turn America into Somalia.

Comparing Trump to Hitler is evil. I won’t dignify the comparison with a response.

Instead, I’ll make a different point. If It’s not just Brown and Hispanics being rounded up for deportation then don’t accuse Trump of being racially motivated with these roundups.

Our President failed to realize people run for the House because they want to change things. I’m thinking that’s a major motivation for any one to run for office, be it the local school board, congress or the presidency. Frankly our President ran for office because he wanted to change things. There are hours of speeches, including his inaugural speech supporting this. Different people have different opinions on how to accomplish this. Disagreement is ok. What isn’t ok is telling elected officials to abandon the jobs they were elected to do and go back to some place else even though they are citizens, native born or naturalized. I couldn’t help but laugh, Rep. Omar has been a citizen far longer than our first lady or her parents. I suggest everyone pocket their vitriol and name calling and move forward. If you don’t like the way things are here, move to change it via the electoral process, like these house members are doing. We all have folks we elected to represent us. Let’s meet and talk to them about our mutual goals regardless of what they are. That’s been the American way. In the meantime, don’t be surprised if someone on the street, on the train, on the subway tells you to go back to where you came from simply because you dress and look differently than others.

Of course people run for Congress to change things. But the changes they seek should be to make things better conform with the values on which the country is built. To make the country great again. It requires a fundamental belief that America is essentially great, and therefore certain details need adjusting to enhance that greatness. Omar and her ilk are not coming to improve America but to transform it into something it never was and must never be. Something foreign and evil. They are not patriots, they’re revolutionaries; they want to overthrow the USA and replace it with a utopia of their own imagining. They want to turn the USA into Venezuela or into the Sweden of their imaginations And they must not be allowed to do so.

    Amil:

That’s what I advocate. We Americans, who appreciate our country and the values upon which it was founded, need to address the problem of these rogue politicians in the way designated by the Constitution.

1 – Pursue the actions that were uncovered in investigations that suggest that these squad members are far from guilty of crimes. If that is not enough to impeach them or to lock them up, then it will serve as a strong basis for a candidate to unseat them in their next shot at elected office.

2 – We should apply effort to insure that there are viable candidates from either party that will be well funded to launch campaigns against them now. These campaigns that would give the rogues a run for their money should hopefully distract them from their anti-Trump obsession, from their endless bills that are anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, anti-law enforcement, and anti-open borders, and their dishonesty being splattered all over the media. Then we would hope to see these candidates get into office, and put a full stop on the socialist rebellion that will destroy the independence we hold so dear.

BK613 I’ve no doubt that these young legislators want to increase some socialist aspects of our society and use capitalism to fund those changes. I’ve yet to hear a single one talking about nationalizing industry. Frankly much of what they want would benefit poor Jews here in the US who can’t make on ‘welfare’ as we know it. Large families with many children would benefit from increases in TANF, SNAP and more affordable housing and greater funding for HUD voucher and home ownership programs. That being said they don’t have an ice cubes chance in hell to accomplish any of it. For those that suggest ‘impeaching’ these newly elected women, do some research, see what that will take. In all honesty I don’t live in any of the states or districts that they represent. I’m quite happy with the house members elected from my state, that’s what I pay most attention to. Although I have been doing some fact checking and there there is evidence that there are out right lies attributed to these women. But my purpose joining this convo was not to be persuasive. Time to head down to the beach for sunset. Ya’ll have a great evening and a wonderful tomorrow.

jdf007, an airplane ticket from Central America to the U.S. costs much less than $14,000. More people fly in on a tourist visa and then overstay that visa than cross the southern border illegally by land. So why do they do it? My guess is that it’s hard to make an asylum claim if you come on a tourist visa. Your argument for following the rules doesn’t work if you’re in fear of your life. Poverty is not a valid basis for asylum, so the fact that somebody paid a coyote a lot of money is a red herring. Chances are that after they pay the money, they really are poor.

If Trump really wanted to solve the immigration crisis, he would use the resources of the United States to improve conditions in Central America so people wouldn’t want to leave. Instead he cut humanitarian aid to Central America, and is diverting some of the funds to the Venezuelan opposition to pay for their salaries, airfare, “good governance” training, propaganda, technical assistance for holding elections and other “democracy-building” projects.

    YY:

You take absurdity to new heights. You have a tiny point that the improvement in the poverty situation in Central America would likely result in smaller numbers of asylum seekers. But the US has enough poverty of its own to worry about before seeking to address foreigners. They are not our problem. There are quite a few charities that raise money for poor people in other countries, and you are free to support them. But our government has no obligation to take care of citizens of other countries before our own. Humanitarian aid wasn’t reaching its targets because of the political situation there, and Trump did the most reasonable thing.

TLIK, so you think the US shouldn’t send foreign aid anywhere? How about Israel, which is by far the largest recipient of foreign aid?

“in cases where some illegal workers have been cheated by unscrupulous employers”
    **
    1. Is it legal to hire ILLEGAL immigrant?
    2. If someone will come to your door and say that from now on they will live in your house, because your house is way better, that house they have. They will not ask your permission to enter, they just will get in and stay as long as they want. They will use your bed and bathroom, the food from your fridge and so on. They will take your job. Will you agree? How entering and occupy your house without your permission is different from entering foreign country without permission?

    YY:

Foreign aid is not tzedokoh. It is always to satisfy a vested interest. US benefits greatly from Israel, and in a variety of ways. It is in America’s best interests to support Israel. If your memory of Obama is near accurate, we witnessed someone who denied that, and limited support in many ways. Fortunately, Congress spoke up bipartisan, and Obama was forced to sign bills of financial support. But the optimism was short lived, as he found ways to condemn Israel at every opportunity, refused to condemn Arab terror until days later and mountains of pressure, and he looked for means to funnel monies to the terrorists all through the Middle East. He sold Israel down the river with the Iran deal, and threw Israel under the bus with one of biggest financial donations to Iran in world history, fully aware that Iran supports terror.

It is not about blocking foreign aid. But to just send money because there is poverty there is foolish. Remember donating to the Clinton Foundation because of Haiti? The Haitians testified many times that they never received a dime. You need to know your target is reached, and that you are taking steps to resolve a problem.

It is not a crime to simply being in the US illegally. And ICE is the only law enforcement agency that doesn’t bother with the constitutional requirement of search and arrest warrants signed by judges. That is why when they show up at your door you do not have to open it. And that is why the sanctuary city movement is actually a good idea — local law enforcement agencies can be held liable if they hold someone for ICE when ICE doesn’t have a valid warrant.

Hawaii is part of the US. It was a state when Obama was born there. There is a birth certificate that is unquestionably valid; it was attested to by Hawaii’s Jewish Republican governor and then by her successor who was a Democrat who personally knew Obama’s parents before Obama was born.

Only ignorant racists like Trump promoted these conspiracy theories. Even had Obama been born outside the US he STILL would be a natural born US citizen because his mother was a US citizen (and in fact his mother was a 12th generation American).

TLIK, you write “Foreign aid is not tzedokoh. It is always to satisfy a vested interest.” I totally agree. It’s in the interest of the United States to have safe, prosperous, democratic countries all over the world, but especially in the Western Hemisphere.

Do you think the Marshall Plan was a bad idea? How about you, Joseph? There was one Joseph who didn’t like it, but he’s been dead for 66 years.

“Remember, Trump said the people chanting “The Jews won’t replace us” in Charlottesville included “some very fine people.””

It’s very easy to look up what he actually said, but since all the Trump haters love to say that trump called now-nazis and white supremacists nice people, here are two actual quotes from that press conference.

    1) “Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group – excuse me, excuse me, I saw the same pictures you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.”

    2) “I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”

Then you wonder why Trump calls them, “the fake news media” and “the enemy of the people”. If you can’t trust the media to find out the truth about current events, then who can you trust.
